I prefer doing the shore landings too. Leave the Japanese in fortified posititions along the beach and have the Japanese do the first turn.
That way the defending player may opt to defend on the beaches or withdraw inland.
On turn-2 the Japanese player may build MG nests and bunkers if there are enough resources. Or better yet, let the scenario start with some Japanese resources and they can do this on turn-1 as well.

I would prefer landing myself too, it will give me an extra chance to use those Higgins boats and also handle logistic, Erik gets the idea and Erik please design more scenario Thx in advance

I guess they will make better and more interesting scenarios for the expansions. Personally, i am interested in playing scenarios with Japan on the defensive.

PzC is an awesome game, but remember that we are thinking about it with the benefit of all the expansions and patches for several years! I am sure that given time the guys at Aristocrats can turn this game into something as great or even greater.

Also want to say that i enjoyed following this thread. The writer started out so positive, then slightly less, then very negative and finally something neutral. Its interesting following his mood/opinion in this way. :)
