Aryaman won 8% vs 48% Iandavidsmith (+40%)

General Aryaman, Lord of the North East, reports a great victory over those most ungallantly dressed rebels that challenged the authority of the king. The rebel army was advancing with great confidence but it was met by the well aimed volleys of the royal infantry, and its battleline disrupted, our brave infantry charged them and routed them.
God save the King!

I have been chatting with Cromwell and he is having connection issues - I have invited the 'first replacement' to join in his place. Hopefully Cromwell will be back with us for Episode II or whatever happens later. I'll get the challenges sorted out as soon as possible, sorry for the delay.

Aryaman won 12% vs 43% Iandavidsmith (+31%)

General Aryaman, Viceroy of the North West, reports another great victory over the rebels, declared enemies of King and Fashion.
Despite the poor performance of some effeminate cavaliers, the push of pike of my brave infantry carried the day.

The map might be even better if it was color-coded with the current Royalist/Parliamentary leanings.
Done on a weekly basis and dated, it would be useful for showing the current situation.

Greetings from the "replacement player" for Cromwell.
Be Warned: I come from a long line of talented soldiers who fought in most of the wars of the last century; some even held the rank of Corporal for more than one week! (One month is the record, held by an uncle in WW2 who was in Graves Registration).
I am happy to be on the side of Parliament...I will look in the eyes of the Royalists and see a very nasty couple from Oxford I met on a cruise to Australia a few years back.

Who do I challenge first?
Who Challenges me?
I know I'm 1642 Parliament, medium army, medium field.

OK, you need to create two challenges, medium army, open battle, very wide map. Password protect them (usually with opponents name). As you said, you use 1642 Parliament and choose Royalist Edgehill for Blathergut and Royalist 1642-43 for Ironclad:

Mid-East: Ulysisgrunt vs. Blathergut (Edgehill)
Mid-west: Ulysisgrunt vs. ironclad (Royalist 42-43)

Good luck!

Nice thought. This was the first time I had ever done one of these and it took a long time using windows paint to brush in the colours in each region. To complicate things because of the map's size it had a nasty habit of flicking the brush across the map when the scroll inadvertently was triggered, necessitating me to repaint the blemishes using the different colours affected including replacing the black borders. Now if someone knows a quicker way to replace the colours in each region that would be very helpful for a regular update.

Well then, the quick and easy way is to simply type in the current number representing the political leanings in each region.
Not as pretty as color coding but just as informative.
Just a thought anyway.

Welcome to the campaign. Its a pity that your noble willingness to fight has been rewarded by aligning you with such a desperate group of despicable ingrates who would inflict their foul dogma on the land in their endeavour to bring down our good King Charles. Challenge accepted, let battle decide! :)

Yes good idea but it would be great to colour code as well. Using paint I did automatically border and infill the Highlands rectangle but its how to do it for the different region shape and keep the region names. Actually thinking about your idea I can colour code the font showing ownership/status so that is a workable solution. Thanks.

Retracing the borders using the infill tool maybe - that would be a pain but doable as a once off? Also I'd like to know how to keep the region names without having to redo them every time an area's colour changes.
I'm dabbling with shapes in Excel 'traced' from Ironclad's map... bit busy with work this weekend but will see if I can get something sorted - may even get it to auto-fill based on data.

Here is the Campaign Start position using Side/Status coding. Will this do, its easy enough to change? Can folks read it - any larger and it will have a scroll bar.

Edit: Oops this shows score not sentiment - corrected in later map listed below.

Could you color-code according to sentiment?

Ulysis....skirmish...medium army, open battle, very wide map...choose edgehill '42 for the royalist army :)
