crikey.. will need some time to compute that list of runners and riders... all very good and nice to see lots of foot... surely the mayans have to take the Aztecs on in the first round!
sassanids v arabs in other historical match up
a Swedish civil war.. French v burgnundians for the ordnance survey rights
and a 3 way fight for the crown of scottiland... altho I would class the other two as merely pretenders as I am the true champion having ground my opponents into dust !

Paul, I certainly see you as the Last King of Scotland. You always remained me of Idi Amin - especially after hehad been dead for a while.

But he's not dead is he? He is living a life of luxury in some gulf state.

Well fellahs the Arabs are all based and undercoated white. I've just about finished with the foot and will make a start on the mounted tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I will have something not too embarassing by Saturday. Don't try this at home lads - its madness!
Time to pick your favs. My money is on a Cutner victory with Taylor second and Copeland third. I have excepted those who are playing for fun off course.
I'd love to join you on your SAGA basho on Friday GD but I will be basing so that Mr Munro doesn't choke on his sausage butty.
4 sleeps ........

Hunter I don't think 4 sleeps applies to you with all the work you have to do. Nice to see the usual Hunter curse of death predictions. Hardly worth Alan, Rob and Jim turning up now. I still think Idi Amin lookalike Paul is the man to fear. Mind you I am just there for fun and of course to see if Hunters army is acceptable enough to even play in such illustrious company.

SD Productions can exclusively reveal that numbers are once again fluid as Mark Taylor, riding WOTR English, has entered the fray and George has hinted darkly at a mystery "Irish Wargamer" who may or may not be entering the tilt. Depending on the mystery man's plans George may play with Seleucids. SD does not yet know the army of the mystery man from the emerald isle but will honour the public right to know when this becomes clearer.
In an astounding turn of events SD can also reveal that John Muno is now playing only for fun. Yes, you heard it hear first - for fun! SD has ordered the new Scots Dictionary to be sure the revised definition of fun is "baws oot tae win".

Hunter, should you not be painting rather than impugning your fellow players and their reputations.
By the way lads had a look at the venue today in order to check out the best tables for getting my opponent facing into the sun at various times of the day. Also placed booby traps to be set off at key times. Of course I am in it just for fun.
Seriously, the venue looks really good. Well done George for discovering it.

Playing for fun is just so over rated... whereas grinding your opponents to dust is so much more enjoyable!....
whats this about saga on Friday.. I will bring my pecheneg steppe peoples if there is opposition!!
If Hunters chaps are white undercoated all they need is a bit of flesh colour and they are finished...
Robert's inexperience with Aztec will lead him to his doom.. where as Alan has already fine tuned his Mayans so he is the man to beat.. must go look to see what's in a mayan army...

Fine tuned my Mayans? Never used the army before. Used Aztecs for the very first time last weekend.

Well Paul, I do not know about your eye site but I am pretty sure that that is not a peashooter that Rob is clutching in his two hands under his Aztec cloak. About the same size I agree but I suspect it is some other form of weapon.

on a similar vein there is a comedy night 7.30pm on Friday night at the spotted kangaroo (or something similar) in Stirling... I might drop down there as will be around all day.
John, I could see if they have a slot for you as your wargames humour could go down well with the punters... We could persuade Robert to do a puppetry of the pea shooter act too!
Hope Hunter is painting merrily away and I will look forward to renewing all the hellos on Saturday
my mobile is 07974 686 556 if anyone wants to meet up Friday evening
cheers
Paul
