Nigel contributes 62 and Paul 28, I'll leave you to do the rest of the maths.

Yet he doesn't look a day over 59. What is his secret?

So, Nigel is 62, Ray is 28, that means I'm 124 after only ever playing three games! I can live with that!

Actually as you don't have a ranking I gave you the lowest possible, ie. 1 less than the bottom of the current rankings.
By the way 2 extra Heavy artillery with limbers packed.

Thanks for a great weekend all.
Despite only scoring 8/125, I had a really fun time. Thank you to the organisers and to all my very understanding opponents who saw all my dice fail me.
Was really hoping to get into double figures this weekend...
Btw: I have someone's cliff type hill. Any claimants.

Hear hear on another enjoyable comp at MK.
Will: so it's 1 all in comps now, except I only scored the same as you at be ecw (3 games) vs MK (5 games)
The dice can be fickle things they can be .... But I did get to kill three German noble oppressor lords this weekend

Fortunately their men liked them so little that they didn't care even if two of them died in the same phase!

With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, I suspect that:
- the wall-to-wall
all-average, all MF/Warrior armies in an Eastern period (which had many potential cohesion-test modifiers for them all to face in most combats - lost to Elephants, shot by artillery, lost to close formation foot, lost to mounted) meant that outcomes were rather more at risk of poor cohesion-test results than we are normally used to seeing in "European" armies. Even with GC's in mine and all of my opponents armies. I'd say I won one game more decisively than I might otherwise have done (sorry Will!), and then also ended up on the losing end of 2 others (Bob, Ray - you know who you are!) almost entirely off the back of cohesion test swings alone.
- The Pike/Kiel period was probably too many points/allowed too many pikes/Kiels to allow people to get a result in 3 hours
Maybe both periods could have done with less points, or some other limitations, in order to make the "tactics/game" side of playing more important ? Something to think about in these non-standard themes and time limits ...

Tim is correct about the mad swing in dice results especially for cohesion tests. Against Tim my cohesion dice were great and his terrible. Against Wayne my army elected to go home with one wing giving up in one and a half turns. I managed a draw against Ray (10-10) and a small win (13-7) against Chris. We will not mention Will's game as his Bg's walked off the table as he put them down.
Big thank you to everyone who took part in the FOG R National League. Neil announced that they have a verbal agreement for the Campaign to take place next year on the same weekend.
On the way home Ben was suggesting that perhaps the Peasant armies should have been 750 points. I did not feel that 800 points for the elephants was too large.
With a year to go Ben and I will start thinking about next year's league. What periods do you think were should consider?
