Pre-Turn:
Partisans in England, good for British moral, bad for us!
Interesting movements going on in the Atlantics.
And Iraky rebellion almost finished off in the first turn ...
Post-Turn
Another defender cracked here, and two FTR badly hurt! On Norwegian coast Weserübung starts.
Nothing was sunk here this turn, but hopefully not all of the ships will make it to a port.
Storming Gibraltar fortress has just began.
And Suez Canal taken. Mare Nuestra almost established and Rommel arrived to command his DAK.

I am new to this AAR, but enjoying the clear presentation. What I have learned most, "look around everywhere before moving." This lesson is emphasized by the excellent pre-turn views. What is in all that empty sea?

Pre-Turn:
More troops evacuated to North-Ireland. But it seems British have a PP problem, FTRs have not been repaired, morris seems to give them up!
DD flees to Halifax but BBs have to stay as there is no other Port. Poor British: have to fight a superior fleet for the first time since centuries!
And Iraky rebellion already crashed...
In-Turn:
Weserübung starts: we hope for a lucky shot at the 2-step GAR in Oslo. That would safe 8PP as the second transport wouldn't have to be unloaded...
Post Turn
Luck! Empty Oslo will fall in Axis hands next turn!
Lots of good news here as well: 2 FTR & a MECH killed! A transport has been placed west of Scapa Flow to prevent the next transport to reach Belfast harbor safe in one turn...
And another great victiory for Kriegsmarine. Two BBs sunk, making the turn very successful. The Bismarck is already on her way back to repairs...
Still bombing and fighting here. Probably it will still take 2 more turns to take Gibraltar...
Axis forces also moving forward to the Middle East, though Jerusalem defenders hold this turn.
And for whom ever likes: some statistics on Manpower, PP (Allies is an estimate) and Oil ... since Romania joined the oil situation is fast getting better.
@Morris: yes, you have a hard stand. But your time will come!! Thanks for the great interesting game!

Will it even work? IIRC other units can now move through the same hex that the transport occupies.
And wow, it looks like you will conquer almost everything

.

I really like the way you model the pre-turn. Looking things over, thinking about what is best to do.
I am trying this in my own games and it really helps.

hmm not sure that's really going to be enough oil but I guess you will soon have more

Pre-Turn:
As planned the transport has to go the long way... unfortunately an English Partisan spawns...
Post-Turn
With the help of Bismarck the transport could be sunk after some bombing, rest of the troops prepare for the invasion of Ireland!
Oslo reached, Weserübung finished! Tirpiz on the way west.
Good luck here: Gibraltar falls one turn earlier than expected (Morris could repair only 1 or 2 steps as the city was yellow already). First vessels of Regia Marina sail to the Atlantik!!
Jerusalem taken, Damaskus with strong Australian defenders and a def-commander in sight!
At the end of the turn Finnland joins the Axis powers, and another convoy runs in the barricade.
@richard: yes we look forward to Iraky oil ...

Pre-Turn
Another Partisan in England! Well, nevertheless we start with the invasion of Northern Ireland!
Post-Turn
After the successful Fallschirmjäger-drop and some bombing: INF destroyed and Belfast defenders severely weakened.
Two of the annoying Partisans were killed too.
Atlantik overview...
and operation Mafalda ready to start next turn ...
Troops are getting close the Iraky border. To have the Russian oil for a while longer they will first go up to Mosul on Syrian side, before crossing the border.
and another convoy ending up in the barrier ...
Turn 36 | August '41

Pre-Turn
No hostile activities, just some repairs at Belfasts defenders. Next partisan in England...
Post Turn
Belfast taken and just Scapa Flow missing to get rid of any resistance in Western Europe! Bombing of the fortress from Air and Sea has started.
Some convoy bashing on Canadian coast.
Operation Mafalda at full speed ... unfortunately the Portuguese INF survives at one step.
The 5. leichte Division DAK already decorated with three stars, starts the attack of Damaskus.
And some news at turns end ...

May I ask why Operation Mafalda is needed? Why not just ignore Portugal?

Thank you, that makes sense. I always think of neutrals as being neutral.

Pre-Turn
Partisans in England.
MECH on Scapa Flow repaired. It will take some turns to take the fortress...
But no repairs here, seems British run very low in PP. On the other hand, it wouldn't have stopped us anyway.
The Australians nevertheless got some replacements.
Post-Turn
Another Partisan destroyed and some more bombing at the far North.
Lisboa taken, Operation completed.
The blockade...
Damaskus liberated!. The tanks keep rolling through the desert towards Mosul and some nice Oilfields...
And forces are slowly gathered to start Operation Marita in some turns.
Next round Guderian and Waffen-SS-MECH will be ready. Rest: classified
And Casulties...
How I like the Olive-Grey ...
@durk: Yes, of course I agree... but Strategy goes over Neutrality...

No Pre-Turn caus nothing happen.
Post-Turn
Luftwaffe keeps bombing Scapa Flow, Fallschirmjäger will be ready next turn... and another Partisan killed.
A little convoy almost stopped completely at its origin.
and rolling ...
The blockade works ...
Turn 39 | September '41

Again no Pre-Turn.
Post-Turn:
Brave Canadians keep resisting, but next turn it should be over!
In Sankt-Lowrence-River demoralized Brits battle with German SUBs.
Still deploying here... but all needed forces are in the area now.
Mosul comes in sight! But no defenders!
And more work for the blockade.

So this is my new question.
If it makes sense to take Portugal to guard against invasion, why not take Ireland, also?

Post-turn
Skapa Flow finally taken, the hard fight against the Canadians is over. Commonwealth troops have been pushed out of Europe totally.
Blitzkrieg in Irak! Untill now no resistance!
Everything is ready for Marita ... Operation will start next turn.
Naval skirmish on Canadian coast...
End of turn: communists and imperialists start working together ...
@richard & durk: I will not take Ireland: they have quite a strong army (5 or 6 10-step GARs), I prefer to prepare for a possible landing there different

Good call. Ireland is also not worth any PPs. If the Allies want to land there, you will get all of those free garrisons for defense. Overall, you are doing a great job so far at keeping the Allies back on their heels. There is really nothing the Allies can say that they have won so far. It's quite an accomplishment. If you play well in the USSR, this game will be won easily.
