Thats the right way Nick ! Again in this wise and yes - its takes 1-2 hours for me to create a new 3d model. Its a hard working prozess, but the game play its fantastic or ?

Also some new 3d models for planes - Now I have them all and can produce all jets and helicopters. Also I wrote to TopGun (the master of air planes at CIV3) to join our WW3 team.

OK - many fans PM me to open this mod - but we need mutch more time to finish a first version - months !

Here a bigger video for all, they can not wait: (BTW - the attack animation are not fine tuned in efx file - I will do this , if all units NVA and BW finished ! Also the new damage sounds are not produced yet !)

Guys, this mod is a great addition to a great game, appreciate your hard work. The models look awesome, this will be a great Christmas present. I would also like to know if you are planning any modified units? After all this is 40 or 50 years after WWII, there have been many advancements in warfare since then.

Things like spetsnaz and seal units with ability to evade and damage damage structures, kill leaders, steal prestige.

How about bombers and choppers that can launch missiles at ships and tanks several hexes away.

Mines, gas and tactical nuke attacks.

Are these things possible with this game engine?

Now - The most things are possible, but we hold on at the old game parameter system - the most units fight only in close combat over 1 km (=1 Hex) Rocket Air defence (SA-2, SA-6, Hawk) can shot between 6-12, gun Artillery shot from 4 to 8, rocket artillery (LARS, MARS, MRW) can fire over a greater distance. Flak guns shot 2.

More distance for motorized infantry or tanks are not possible yet, but believe me the game atmosphere is better and better.

Alltogether we have 75 NATO jet squads against 40 WP jets on our middle europe map - but the WP had much more rocket air defence, much more tanks and much more infantry, but the NATO technique is better - you can say 1:3. It will be because of the strategy to switch the opponent off with many well-conceived operations ! We plan some historical planned Air drop operations, special forces, spetsnaz and seal units (spotting=4 + radar traits !) behind the lines etc. Also many historical planned reinforcments US and UK troops coming from the North sea (REFORGER) and Airports , and french troops, netherlands and Belgium over westside, italian troops from the southside polish and 2nd soviet line troops from the eastside, hungarian troops and rumanian troops in reserve on the south eastern Austrian Border.
Mines, gas and tactical nuke attacks.
The engine can not handle this ! Now - no way. We hope -that some of the PC - designers support our project with a little help to open the source code of the game engine for new features.

With all respect for your hard work, but why on earth are you saving everything in PNG when you don't even use transparency? :? These screenshots are often around 5MB, when a jpeg that looks the same with the naked eye, takes like 400-600kb. It really slows down the pages and on top of that, the high resolutions mess up the forum layout, because if people type a long text, others are forced to scroll sideways to read it (like most people are doing right now who read my comments).

jpeg's have a very bad quality - my favorit is png - sorry - I think you need more net speed.

I'm just pointing this out to you
You have six eiffel towers in that screenshot do you need any more?
Also there is 1 bridge missing and other on a curve(which i'm told you can't do)

OK :evil: :evil: :evil: - a 2nd one - thats not an finished map - its only a rough set to test some new units. Also I will use over 200 modern urban tiles for WW3 - not the old original.

C-130 looks really great. Congratz.

I've only now noticed that the MIG has the landing gear down.
Again, this is not much important, but you're a man for detail, so I wonder if that was on purpose.

And just one question, out of curiosity. Are all the modders using the same scale for units?
Or is it free?

No good getting mad with me because i didn't read the entire five pages of this thread bit hard really with 5mb screenshots waiting to load up
Just as you are ready to be highly critical and cynical you should expect the same works both ways don't you know?

Yes, I will set without wheels later - now we test all units and design all icons with the same texture.
We can not hold the same unit scale for all ! The hard coded png scale is 148 x 148 !!!

Thats right - but the Mig-29 kill every other NATO jet in 1990 and the soviets had a full arsenal of this typ in the 16th air army stand in GDR at 1990.

Maybe its the angle but that looks more like a Mig25 Foxbat. Very nice nevertheless.

Looks good, but it`s not MiG-29 and even not MiG-25 it`s a MiG-31. Look at landing gears and you will have not any doubts. And the geometry of planes is absolutely different.

Yes -the 3d model its an Mig-31 - but I will use them also for the Mig-29 - I can not create one extra model for every of the 50 different jets for 1990- It costs 30 min to build up this png's for every unit.
