Recent update..... Romans and Phyrric have just made first contact, some of my left flank pikes are not holding up too well, but I have managed to destroy 1 of the Gaul cavalry, obviously their reputation has been overstated.
Will keep you posted if things go my way :P

The two ptolemaic armies are now in visual contact, having the usurper's Dyteros host finally come out of the Nile's Delta swamp.
The terrain is desertic with hills on my left projecting ahead toward the center of the map and confining the two phalanxes on the right wing.
My units are slowly advancing in ordered ranks maintaining a deep silence that is going to dishearten the enemy .. what will come, anyway, is still shrouded in the God's will!

Results so far

The battlelines of the two Carthage armies are now in full contact. As the points show the impact and early melee have been in favour of Pyrrhus.
Lots of hard fighting remain but the spirit is high among the ranks of the one and true Carthagian army :D

Well the Romans are in the lead in the land of the many lakes, but I have managed to turn one flank while my other flank barely holds out. Many of my pikes are taking excessive casualties but the fighting continues. so far no generals have been lost.

Last news from the roman battle field.
The pyrrhic center is almost overrun by the mighty legionnaires. On the right flank our cavalry performed over expectations with the help of elephants and veteran principes from our reserve.
On the left flank the situation is not so good, but our loyal allies, Pergame, are still holding helped by italian allied infantry, some velites and mercenary thureophoroi.

The latest score is:

tofman04 (Mid-Republican Roman) 21/56 vs deadtorius (Pyrrhic (in Italy)) 42/56

Pyrrhus vs Caesar

Last news from the Senate of Rome:

-after a fierce battle our consul succeeded in throwing away back in the sea the greek army; Senate vote a triumph for our victorious consul.

-heroic resistance and death of our Pergame ally general on the left wing gave us the necessary time to destroy the greek centre and left wing.
His name will be remembered.

So, boys, the Ptolemaic Strategos may take a little rest, drinking a cup of wine to celebrate his daring & valiant companions, before engaging in the melee against the usurper's forces!

Messenger's report.

The two Ptolemaic phalanxes, having skirted the hills and slowly maneuvering with both right flank refused, are now entered in contact with their respective centres, while on the high ground the MF units watch at each other waiting to launch an assault, should the opportunity arise.
Cavalry, in the meantime, has no great chances of moving due to the nature of terrain on one flank and the constricted area where the phalanxes clashes on the other.
The battle seems very tactical and both commanders adopted a very cautious approach.

It's difficult to say now who will gain the laurels at the end of the day but, at the moment, the Ptolemaic legitimate soldiers rejoyce in their heart for the great victories of their superb allies in the other matches while the usurper's army has probably lost its morale!

And he has just won 47/75 vs 68/66 - sorry team.

I had the opportunity (terrain & initial deployment) to make it a closer score but not the ability
