Hammy,

I can lend you a NKE army. Just let me know what you need.

Or you could use Old/Middle KE. I have some interesting Generals for that army.

Actually Old Kingdom might be a good challenge 8)

I will have a check and see just how bad they are.

As it stands it looks like we will have even numbers but it is always possible that someone will drop out.

A nice mix there. How do you do the first round for this event?

That is indeed a good question.

In the past I have done random with club vs club games banned for the first two rounds but there is an argument for doing the round 1 draw by army book.

The problem with army book matchups is that there are some books with only one army entered.

I will have a look at how a 'historical' or at least a book matchup would work out.

I have updated the runners and riders. The missing player was not a FoG one but Dave Allen is entered and I have now got a list from him.

I have been looking at trying to make a 'historical' draw but it is not easy. I think I will go random but no club vs club for the first two rounds. All I need to know is who is in which club which I think I will do on the morning of the comp. It should not be a big problem.

That just leaves the question of which army I should have as a spare in case someone doesn't make it.

How about Early Nomad from Lost Scrolls? That looks to have plenty of pants potential.

Actually, that is not a bad idea.

As long as people don't mind my nomads looking like Libyans and Midianites I can do that fairly easily.

That works for me Hammy.

Now let's see if I can manage to face it after managing to deviously avoid you in the Celtic Cup.

That's my story no matter what John Munro says!

First round draw

I would be in favor of an open draw as we tend to fight in period where possible and I would like to try something different. Same applies for the first two rounds of combat avoiding club members as we play each other on a regular basis and change is as good as a rest.
Mike.
ps. We find that we are not always playing 110% correctly, so playing other clubs brings out differences which is good learning.

Personally I think the game works best in period, but for me I'm happy as long as I get to play some different people.

OK - email me the definitive list of the armies (including what you are using) and I'll do you a first round draw on a "best fit" historical match up basis :D

You will also need club affiliation and family ties Nik.

I am going to take early nomad with the camels but I am only going to play if there are an odd number of players.

Other than that the list above is correct.

I don't have a complete list of club information other than there are quite a few MAWS and Oxford players.
