I don't quite understand the author's idea. I have a bunch of enemies, but my cavalry contingent from the core cannot participate in this map at all. What did the author want to show us? And for some reason, the death of the main character does not immediately lead to defeat!

I see, so I will investigate.

My initial intentions : Polybius describes a skirmish preceding the battle of Agrigente. The Numidian cavalry (I also used medium cavalry in the game, as the Numidians have no anti-cavalry attack) was sent to harass the Roman camp in order to force the Roman cavalry into battle before the main armies were in position. The Roman cavalry decided to make a sortie, but the Numidians immediately retreated. The Romans pursued them, believing they were fleeing. However, the Numidians were actually trying to lure the Roman cavalry into a trap: Carthaginian troops were lying in ambush and attacked the Romans just as they thought they were winning the skirmish.
Since the Roman cavalry suffered very heavy losses, I decided to add a consul to bring back to camp alive to give an achievable objective to a skirmish that the player is supposed to lose. Once the consul's unit reaches the first objective, the ambush is triggered, and a second objective appears where the consul must be brought back to camp.

About the deployment of core units :In fact, you can deploy two units near the second roman camp to accompany the consul's cavalry.

About the death of the consul : It is the point I have to investigate. If he dies, you are supposed to lose at the end of the next turn (not immediately, since victory condition is trigerred at the end of both the player AND computer turns ; and since the computer play first in this scenario, the defeat screen should arrive only at the end of the player turn).
An investigation is required :lol:

Finally, I completed this challenging mission. The consul is safe, and we continue our journey.

Another incomprehensible mission ) I destroyed all the enemies, but for some reason I wasn't awarded the victory ) What did I do wrong that I didn't even deserve a normal victory?

Who should I surrender to if all the advancing enemies are dead? To the spirits of Carthage! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Pyrrhic victory; the garrison within the walls is ready to pick off the survivors.

More seriously, there are four essential victory conditions that the game checks:
- the survival of the consuls (as usual);
- both Roman camps are still controlled by the player;
- fewer than 10 Carthaginian units marked as "core" (the garrison is marked as auxiliary and does not count) are still alive on the battlefield;
- any consul must be on the Carthaginian camp.

I didn't encounter any problems during my test, but I know it's impossible for you to translate everything. So, I bet that the final victory condition (bringing a consul to the Carthaginian camp) wasn't met in your game.

You were right, as soon as the consul reached the Carthaginian field camp, the game ended with my convincing victory. We are moving on, and I am about to storm this city, which we have been besieging for more than one map.

So, I finished this chapter by killing the enemy general and defeating the Carthaginian army. I guess there's going to be a sequel?

Hi Imeror, I've been replaying your first campaign with the upcoming RomeCorps update 0.4 over the past few days. I've revised the selection of purchasable units and hope to have removed duplicate missions. The campaign is really fun and everything works, including carrying over core troops to the next campaign. Some players might find the prestige value a bit low, but that's just a minor point. Perhaps I should leave the creation of the Roman campaigns to you. :wink: Next, I will curb the awarding of prizes and the inflation of heroes; otherwise, half the army will consist of Roman superheroes after the first campaign. I have so much work with the mod that I have little time for writing/editing campaigns.

The Roman bridge engineers have a switching function for transport, so you don't need to buy one.

There are still some things to change and check, so it will take a while before the update can be released. :idea:
