Setting up battles
- The defender creates the challenge in the FoG2 Multiplayer Lobby.
- Module: Dividing the Spoils v5.
- Scenario: REMOVE THE HEAD!
- Armies: attacker uses selected army, and defender the army of the defender satrapy.
- Force Size: in accordance with Force size in battles below.
- Map Size: Very Wide (48x32).
- Map Type: in accordance with Map terrain in battles below.
- No map re-rolls are allowed (we all must embrace the whims of our beloved goddess Tyche or Fortuna
).
Map terrain in battles
- The defender makes the choice of map type, out of the ones available for the defender satrapy in question:
- Indike: Tropical and Tropical Plain.
- Aigyptos, Syria: Desert, Mediterranean Agricultural, and Mediterranean Plain.
- The other satrapies having a coastline to the Mediterranean or the Black Sea: Mediterranean Agricultural and Mediterranean Plain.
- Hyrkania, Baktriane, Sogdiane: Steppe, Middle-Eastern Agricultural, and Middle-Eastern Plain.
- Armenia, Atropatene, Paropamisadai: Middle-Eastern Mountains, Middle-Eastern Agricultural, and Middle-Eastern Plain.
- All other satrapies: Middle-Eastern Agricultural and Middle-Eastern Plain.
Force size in battles
- The aggregate net number of earlier battle victories in this tournament between the two players (the 'Battle Score') determines the force sizes of the players for the the actual battle:
- If the Battle Score is is zero, each player uses 2000 FP.
- If the Battle Score is negative for a player (i.e., more losses than victories against the enemy player), that player uses 2000 FP.
- If the Battle Score is positive for a player (i.e., more victories than losses against the enemy player), that player uses 2000 FP minus the Battle Score times 40 FP.
- Example: rbodleyscott has won 3 battles and lost 1 battle against kronenblatt so far in this tournament, why the Battle Score is 2 (3-1) in the favour of rbodleyscott who will then use 1920 FP (2000-2*40) against kronenblatt's 2000 FP.
- This mechanism aims at creating some sort of handicap system within the tournament.
Concluding and reporting battles
- Battle outcome, once resolved, is posted in the tournament thread by the victor (or the player having inflicted the most casualties), along with information about combatants' casualties and whether the C-in-C has been killed.
- Example: Aetius39 defeated kronenblatt 48-30, with kronenblatt's C-in-C killed in battle.

Aetius defeats DIVM 46-15
Two great Diadochi generals faced off in a great pike and cavalry battle. Our opponents brought more cavalry, but a combination of our pikes heroically holding out against superior odds, and their cavalry kept checked until close to the end, gave the true successors to Alexander the victory. GG to my opponent, as the game was closer than the score shows.
