The terrain had a small hill on the Indian left, a woods on the Indian right, and mostly rough ground in between, with the widest open gap between the centre and the woods. The Graeco-Bactrian side was mostly open, with some woods flanking a road pointing at the Indian centre left. Both generals concluded that the burden of the attack was on the smaller Graeco-Bactrian army.

EdmondDantes deployed a large cavalry force to attack the hill, with a mixed force of cavalry, elephants and phalanx on the left, and some medium troops in the centre. The cavalry broke against a strongly defended hill, where close fighters protected light artillery and massed archers on its crest. The central medium troops cleared one of the two rough areas of archers, but eventually succumbed to the arrows of the remaining (the Indians have LOTS of archers). The cavalry and elephants on the Graeco-Bactrian left were distracted by a flanking attack of Indian cavalry originally hidden behind the woods, and archers in the woods. The phalanx nonetheless charged alone through the gap, destroying all in its path - until one band of massed archers managed to survive melee with a phalanx long enough for a light chariot to deliver repeated flank charges.

In the mirror, the Graeco-Bactrians massed all of their elephants and phalanx, supported by a few light and heavy cavalry against the Indian left flank hill. Unfortunately for the Indians, they had planned a massed cavalry attack on that flank, and the cavalry had no chance against the elephants and phalanx. The Indians tried to compensate by attacking forward from the middle rough with their superior numbers, but were stopped either by the Graeco-Bactrian defended woods, or cut down in the open by the bulk of the Graeco-Bactrian cavalry.

Good games. The Indians are challenging to play with their primary strength in elephants and massed archers. So we are going to do some practicing before the next tournament

The fighting line eventually developed on the plain in front of the centre hill stretching up onto both flanking hills. Obviously things did not go well for the Bretons, fortunately, things went slightly less well for the Visigoths. If I were to hazard a guess I might say the, very brittle, numbers of the Bretons allowed them to scrape through.

There appears to be an error on the table with a result already recorded for one battle between me and anderarcos11. Perhaps another result has gone in the wrong place?

My reverse battle vs Angusosborne I lost 39 - 63.

Drudgep's Macedonian squad defeats Kosstia's Ptolemaic by a score of 59-34
Drudgep wins the mirror matchup as the Ptolemaic against Kosstia playing as the Macedonians 65-39.

Interesting as these two army compositions are quire similar, however the Macedonians seem not to rout as often. Good games to you, Kosstia.
