Rafydedel (Georgian 1145 BC) defeats lennard (Arab Syria /Iraq 1009 BC) 64 - 33

Protected by a (stretched) line of spearmen, Georgian horse archers were able to shoot properly at the mass of arab cavalry, but that was not easy.

Rafydedel (Lithuanians 1100 bc) defeats Polish (1155 bc) 60-59


A very narrow victory for the Lithuanians.

The battle took place on a plain between a large and a small forest.
With their heavy foot and qualitative cavalry, The poles were initially successful against the Lithuanian cavalry, but as they progressed they got a bit too close from the dark forest where a big pack of Lithuanians dismounted cavalries waited for them, and the battle turned in favor of the Lithuanian who took the lead at the score.
After some time however, the poles regrouped and managed to catch up. The last two turns were a race to 60% that I eventually won, but that was close.

Division A

angusosborne (Low Countries) defeats ericdoman1 (English) 63-51

The English were a bit squishy in both mirrors. Eric worked both flanks and had most of his success on my right, sweeping away the light foot and we had a collapse in morale when a general died in knight-on-knight action. The other flank was a draw with both of us turning some flanks, but the winning of the game was in the centre. Nothing could stop the Low Countries spearmen from crashing through the middle.

The great news is that The Divisional Championships has started recruiting and will begin 7th January.

Which means, you can jump straight into another tournament.

I ulysisgrunt lost 58 with my Andalusians, while Blagtrot lost 52 with his Aragonese.

Triarii (Venetian) beat Carpenkm (French) 48 - 23

The Venetians looked to be taking advantage of an early Swiss Pike disruption and a reckless Swiss Pike pursuit isolating other Swiss pikes. That was until the isolated Swiss proved remarkably resilient, fragmented and fighting men at arms front and rear they stood long enough for a counter attack by French men at arms to see off their (fickle) Venetian mercenary counterparts. Finally the fragmented Swiss and a tough feudal pike unit broke and the Venetians just got over the line before the French men at arms could realise the come back. Another good.

Div B

Triarii (English) beat XLegione (Genoese) 62 - 40

English attacked towards a steep hill behind a river but with woods on one flank. Welsh spearmen and longbows were better than the Genoese in the river and woods opening the way for dismounted men at arms to climb the hill in the teeth of many crossbows. A tough fight, in the balance until the dismounted men at arms reached the top of the hill.

Division B

Carpenkm (German Imperial) beat Xlegione (Burgundians) 63 - 45.

A good old medieval slug. Control of a hill was key for the Germans and once the right had been won and the hill held, the tide turned against the Burgundians. Well played.

In a total slugfest dragmio with Order of St. John literally eeked out a win over mh5064 with Latin Greek.

Triarii (Genoese) beat XLegione (English) 63 - 39

Genoese left all their LC on the right and crossed a river attacking towards a marsh and steep hill. Welsh spearmen and several longbows were held up by the Genoese LC while lots of cheap oarsmen and concentrated Xb fire cleared the marsh and allowed the hill to be flanked. English longbows and dismounted M@A cleared part of the slopes in front of them but couldn't complete the job before the English right disappeared and their strong position was flanked. Another very tough fight.

My last game so many thanks to Tyrone for another good tourney.
