Quarter final

Questar17 Seleucid 300-206 BC beats Kroche Macedonian 260-148BC 45:11

Both armies consisted of many veteran and normal phalanx and on a quite narrow terrain seemed it was a good army composition.

As i took a bit more skirmishers and light horses, in the center i could shoot opponent's pikes easily without any resistance and make them to loose the order by attacking my shooters. So once troops met each other on impact in the center, some Kroche's pikes arrived early and some of them very delayed. that helped to attack his weaker troops on proper time and place, break them quickly and outflank his best remained troops. That was decisive for this battle.

Situation on flanks weren't important as one of them was covered by the woods and on other one there were a few combats as mainly i blocked a movement of opponents army by my few lancers

Thank you for the game

The semi-finals for the main draw are all set:

Aetius39 (Graeco-Bactrian 250-130 BC)
v
Questar17 (Seleucid 300-206 BC)

and

tyronec (Thracian (Triballi))
v
Janohito (Gallic 300-101 BC)

Congratulations on making it this far. You can set your challenges and begin the games now.

It doesn't look like many of the consolation games are going. Is there progress?

My opponent never did appear or respond and the challenge has been dropped by the MP server due to time out. I think in such cases the match should be forfeited and the winner can move on to the next round.

That's a good idea. You could play Deeter for the repechage final

Looking at the spreadsheet, there appear to be some other games yet to report, or have all of them no-showed? I would move on to the semi-final at this point and play the winner of the other quarter-final match on my side of the draw.

Yes. I think none of the repechage games have got underway, and it's only Deeter and you who have attempted to start

Semi final

tyronec (Thracian (Triballi))
defeats
Janohito (Gallic 300-101 BC)
54-23

Battle of the warbands; the Thracians had the advantage of a hill which made a big difference, but not before the Gauls had nearly swept away one flank after catching a general's unit that had unwisely followed up and creating a cascade of routs. Till next time !

semifinal

Questar17 (Seleucid 300-206 BC) beats Aetius39 (Graeco-Bactrian 250-130 BC) 52-25

On a huge and almost plain desert the game was determined by pikes mainly as elephants, lancers weren't effective vs them.
My army consisted of more phalanx incl veteran so in melee combats where Aetius hadn't pikes but cataphracts and elephants i got a difference in points.

Thx for the game

The Final of the 216 BC World Cup is:

tyronec - Thracian (Triballi)

vs

Questar17 - Seleucid

Please go ahead and set up the challenge. Don't feel pressured, but I would love to see some screenshots and updates as the game goes on.
