Team 3 vs Team 8.

tyronec (Britons) defeats Dragmio (Saxons) 52-5.
Arthur got his cavalry around the flank of the Saxons and into their rear from where they did a lot of damage.

Team 6 vs Team 2

TomoeGozen (Anglo-Saxons) 53% was Defeated by Holien (Romano-British) 28%

The Map gods favoured the British and gave them a small central hill to sit on and taunt the Saxons shouting “Get Off My” Land in a broad Somerset accent. They replied “we claim the right to roam” and charged forward to exercise their right. These warbands hit the thin white line and started to rip into Arthurs feeble troops.

Arthur knew his Cavalry were key and needed to be in the rear of the enemy, (they don't like it up them the Lance corporal said). This was going to be tough as the map gods had given the Saxon flanks woods and hills too.

Arthur split his cavalry on both flanks. The left flank seemed to have a route through but the wily Saxons had hidden some warbands in the woods and they shouted “thou shall not pass”. Meanwhile on the right flank the Saxons held some warbands back. These were then tricked by two units of Cavalry (hidden in woods) making a dash to attack the Saxon light Archers plaguing the British central position. This spurred the guarding warbands forward thinking that Arthur had shown his full hand. But two more Cavalry units hidden in the woods made a run around them to get behind the Saxons.

Meanwhile on the left flank some light Cavalry came to the aid of the delayed Lancers by attacking the rear of the guarding warband allowing the Lancers to slip past. This with another Cavalry unit chasing a fleeing light archer past numerous Saxon warbands managed to get behind the attacking Saxon line. The result was inevitable once the Cavalry got to work spanking the bottoms of the naughty Saxons and telling them to go back home…

A perfect opponent with good humour and gentle banter Thank you.

Team 6 carpenkm / Holien = 85 Points
Team 2 MarcoCato75 / TomoeGozen = 28 Points

Team 3 vs team 8 49-37
random27 (anglo-saxon) draw with sawyerk (romano-british) 49-37

Score team 8 : 49
Score team 3 : 37

A really good battle , with at first lucky anglo-saxon warband winning battles they should not , after that many rallies for romano-british gave them the advantage , and later rallies for anglo-saxon prevent the victory for roman-british
Thanks for the game

Team 4 Vs Team 7

Blagrot (Romano-British) beat Devoncop (Anglo-Saxon) 47% - 15%

Team 7 Score - 92
Team 4 Score - 15
(I think that's right, I've lost all my games in this before today  )

The anglo-Saxons were delat a rough hand in this one, the British anchored themselves on a pair of hills with a swarm of Brythonic foot and Sub-roman foot in between and a wide sweeping cavalry detachment on the left. The Angles couldn't advance in as much force as they hoped with the cavalry waiting to strike but attempted to storm the area between the hills, however one British warband saw their chance for glory. Sneaking gently into posistion for a flank charge they proceeded to charge diagionally up the battlefield through the flanks of four started Anglo warbands before stopping on the fifth to flank charged and crushed in turn, the damage however was doneand the remaining warbands in the centre were surrounded and scattered while the right advanced from it's hill to claim glory in turn.

Thanks for the game and good chat

Team 6 vs. Team 2

MarcoCato75 (Romano-British) defeats carpenkm (Anglo-Saxons) 46% - 11%

Team 2: 60 + 35 = 95
Team 6: 11

The Saxons camped in a hill protected by a forest and waited carefully for the enemy attack. The Romano British needed a miracle to pass the defenses of the fierly barbarians, but a lucky charge leading by the roman general himself and his selected lancers started to broke the line and the saxons were surronded and defeated soon.

Well played! :)

Giacofa93 (Romano-British) beats Aetius39 (Anglo-Saxons) 67-37

The Anglo-Saxons camped on a hill of clear ground. The Britons tried with some success to lure them in the lower, rough ground to disorder them, but in the process many of the Sub-roman troops composing the majority of their army proved unreliable as expected and collapsed after clashing with the fearsome barbarians. Luckily a few of the victorious warbands were too eager in their pursue and exposed their flanks.
In the end the Romano-british won a clash of attrition and numbers, good game to Aetius who's always a pleasant opponent to face.

Score:
Team 5 -> 90
Team 10 -> 37

Hi sorry there are 3 teams still to go and I've pm'd them to find out how long they have. It's past the deadline by several days so I won't give more than a couple more days. We should start the next round by the weekend at the LATEST, and hopefully earlier.

For the remaining teams, I'm aware that there are other tournaments, especially the DL successor that just started. So I know there will be lots of games. I only ask that you try and do at least one turn a day with this tourney game. Please lets try and keep it to roughly 3 weeks per round.^^

In case anyone is wondering, Arthur reigned supreme in this round: 7 wins for the Brits, 1 for the Saxons, and 2 were draws.

I'm guessing that the combined army of the Brits was more versatile than the bulky Saxon infantry army. Well, good job on changing some history!^^

Yes, I think so too, as long as the Saxons covered their flanks their frontline warbands could usually break through the weaker British lines. But, it seems there was some good Arthurian leadership in the British ranks!^^
