Results of ECW event.

First Ben Jones
Second Keith Spedding
Third Ray Boyles
Fourth Jerry Bray
Fifth Chris Beesley
Equal Sixth Paddy Bray
Equal Sixth Bob Medcraft
Eight Dene Green
Ninth David Bowers
Tenth Tom Elsworth

Not my best day but then I chose a silly army and met Cornish twice!

A suggestion has been made that we should increase the flank sector width to 12 inches. This would give mounted just a little more room to move. Any views?

Our next event is 11 September. It is 25 mm, any army.

Tom,

It would be great if you could also publish the scores so we can see how close all the games were.

I am happy with increasing the flank sector width to 12 inches

I am waiting for the 14th of august. I am all free now from my assignment. Because I found the https://writinguniverse.com/persuasive-essay-topics/ website online where I can read persuasive essay topics and it helps me a lot in completing my assignments.

I gather this has now been reduced to 650 points and a smaller table. Does the usual competition rule of "X points + cost of cheapest base" apply or is it 650 on the dot? I have been desperately trying to shoehorn my hitherto hideously unsuccessful New Model in Ireland army into the strict value and keep coming up either two points over or 20+ points short. I can't imagine for one minute that the extra two points will make any difference to my execrable generalship and dice-rolling, so what's the deal? (To be fair, being 20 points short wouldn't make much difference either, I'd just lose faster, but hey ho!)

Any more details on the 18th December event? I lasted tried to enter this a few years ago, got caught in a freak blizzard en route and spent the entire day stuck in traffic on the A34. Even by my standards, that was shit dice rolling.....

The usual rule of + cost of cheapest base applies. So go for your best list.

December 18th is 15mm 650, 6*4 table, any army, but at least 75% of the none general, none camp points must be mounted. Simple as that.

Sorry not going to make the 11th September as I will be on the south coast.
Did you realise 'Colours' at Newbury is the day before?

Thanks Bob, Dene.

Any views on table size? We have had 7 ft x 4.5 ft in the past but I may struggle to get the green cloths we have used. We all have 6 ft x 4 ft cloths so would anyone object to using those instead?

I am happy with 6’ x 4’ table. I outdone also go with 700 points rather than 650.

Thanks Bob,

Any other views on table size? Obviously the question of points that you raise is linked. Not sure I see the logic of 700 if all other rounds are 650. Surely we should then want a bigger table? A 25mm MU is 40mm. We could call that 1.5 inches arguing for a much bigger table than 6x4 (5x1.5 = 7.5). Equally a base is 1.5 times wider.

I may be able to do the 11th now but don’t want to mess things up by making uneven numbers?
