In the end the scenario will have less turns than I anticipated, around 30. Which I think it is just perfect, not too short, not too long. Also the final size has been tuned down a little bit.
We are performing the final tests with Estherr for multiplayer, and my tests against the AI went pretty well :)
All is set, in a few days the Persian Gulf '91 scenario will be out on the streets, along with a lot of improvements to the base mod.

Best regards,
Akkula.
Oh it's good that there will be an update very soon ) Will there ever be such a scenario ?) I wonder how the game will behave when tanks collide with jeeps :)

Nice! :)

Maybe one more thing to consider: although I really like just about all those modern fighter planes I think it would be better to tone down those AA missles a bit. I mean they just look too bright, too white. I understand that you may want to emphasise the difference between their air-air / air-ground modes but I think these bright white missles stand out too much. While the aircraft models themselves look really cool and photo realistic those missles somehow ruin the overall feel and turn them a bit cartoon or hand-drawn like, if you know what I mean.

For example here I reduced the contrast of the AA missles of the Mig-29 in the bottom of the picure by 20 with GIMP:

sample0011.jpg
sample0011.jpg (61.84 KiB) Viewed 5026 times

I think they look more natural compared to the missles of the other NATO planes above it.

Just my two cents and it may not be perfect and I may be totally wrong. :)

Hmm...

Or maybe even better using scale-downed images of actual missiles?

Hi McGuba!, thanks for your comments.
First point, correct: I wanted to emphasize the different between ground and air attacks. Actually the entire design of the bombs and missiles belongs to phcas, he made those terrific icons that really changed the face of the mod during the early stages of development.
Second point. Yes, maybe by now it is time to improve those graphics. The only "but" is that would require gigantic amount of time to rework all the air units; I think I have to gather motivation to start to work on that :D . But yes, I take your points, in some time I could work on them.
Thanks a lot for your comments.

Best regards,
Horacio.
PS: I like the "small" versions as well 8) . I think both could coexist depending the size of the aircraft.

Hello all,
I confirm the release of 1.4 THIS week. At the moment we are running the last test with Estherr and just few details needed to be adjusted, so worst case scenario should be Friday :)

Awesome, sir! :)

I hope you do not take my suggestions as nitpicking, but my experience shows that another pair of eyes can spot things that the creator may not. Anyways, this mod is clearly getting better and better by the day!

Hello everyone!.
Modern Conflicts 1.4 is out!.
Download -Modern Conflicts v1.4-
http://www.mediafire.com/file/541jc7fj2 ... 4.rar/file

I hope you enjoy it. Several updates have been made, but of course the highlight is the new big scenario Persian Gulf 1991 with a brand new nation: Irak; and of course "old" units for the NATO powers involved in that conflict.
As always, feedback of any kind is appreciated (ideas, bugs, questions, etc).
More announcements to come during the next weeks.

Best regards,
Akkula.

Bravo Akkula for your splendid scenario.
A remark, you did not equip the French contingent with artillery.
The 11th RAMa (11th Marine Artillery Regiment) is the organic regiment of the 9th Marine Infantry Brigade for which it is responsible for fire support.
Composed of about 900 men, it is equipped with Caesar cannons and 120 mm mortars.

Best regards

Yves

Hi Yves!, thanks for your words.
About the lack of French artillery, there are two reasons
- I thought the CAESAR entered service in the French Army much later after the Gulf war.
- I couldn't find enough material to create the artillery equipment used in Desert Storm (the French ofc). Curiously the AuF1 was used by the Iraqis but not by the French as far as I know.
But don't worry, there is always room for improvement. I will see what can I do in version 1.5. Don't worry.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Best regards,
Akkula.
