An army that shoots well and supported by spear is a tough nut for a horse based army.

Catalan Company (JocaRamiro) vs War of the Roses English (tullius)
Initiative Catalan Company
Catalan Company (24/30) - English (41/39)
The Catalans winning the choice of of battlefield, we choose the one with the most trees - trusting to our medium infanty. It also had a river winding through it.
The beefeaters formed a defensive laager on the far side of the river, and did not oblige us by wading to the attack. So, the Company took up the burden of attack. our light units skirmished on the left, while the infantry marched across to the right - the idea being to cross the river out of danger, and then cave in the enemy left flank. We put archers in the center to try to cause some losses, and held the cavalry back in reserve. All this took a bit of marching.
Wehn the troops started to cross over, there was a moment of anxiety when two archer units refused to give way. in the end, attrition favored the Company.
In a hard fought game, the brave English ended by giving way.

Imperial C
Ironclad (Pr.Romans 258-59) 22/37 vs Grudgebringer (D. Romans - Western early) 39/37
This battle of the Romans opened with a series of manoevres which saw the Principates left cutting off and destroying the opposing Dominates cavalry wing. the Dominates responded with a powerful infantry attack pushing back the weaker enemy right and fighting broke out all along the line. The Principates gained the better of the heavy infantry exchanges helped by the returning Sarmatian cavalry. A really enjoyable battle with a good combination of movement and hand to hand fighting.

The battle seemed quite easy for me in the beginning, but in the last few turns philoi managed to make some devastating attacks, making the game rather close.

We don't think so. A PM has been sent to him by the organisers and we are awaiting a reply. As he has completed two games in this section (two defeats) any unplayed games of his will be awarded to his opponents. I will discuss this again with the other oranisers at the weekend.

Catalan Comany Vs WOR Yorkists
Initiative Catalan Company
Catalan Company (32/40), Yorkists (36/36)
We chose a dust bowl - desert in the mddle ringed with stubby hills. The company split its infantry with one half sticking to the ridges on each side, and we screened the center with our cavalry - both light and heavy. The enemy stood his ground, and the fighting devolved into two separated battles, and then broke up into mulitple pockets of combat. It was a bit messier than the reporter would like.

Fedem Foederate Roman Eastern 33/36 vs cavehobbit Numidian (Juba II) 54/53
I won initiative.
15 turns on a flat battlefield. We were able to catch their protected Legionaries and all was going extremely well till my men got tired cause of the arrows and javelins, I made a couple of mistakes, Some lancers brake out leaving some friends with rear exposed, I lost my only Commander and on the 14 turnth charging for the winning a LF from the rear with a Superior LH only cause a disruption. That could have cost me the battle.
Anyway well played Pers; as always. Thanks for the game and sorry for the cursing.
Hope to meet you again.
Cheers!
