Hillman remains in German hands despite the valiant effort put up by the Allies! JCB played stellar and was a good game, very enjoyable.

Casualties were even at 12 a piece, 3 flags for the Germans and 2 for the Allies.

We retained our starting flag and gained the one point flag to the south.

Speaking of not seeing, none of the "routed" or "suppressed" etc etc text were popping up over the units on either side.
Is it an enhancement, or a bug lol?

Have added a text fix from Pip, and reduced font size to 8 (from 12)... So, fingers crossed, everyone will see the labels properly now...

FYI Gents,
Have prepared all four maps for June 7th PM.
Am going to hit the sack now and will test start each of them, to ensure everything works correctly, first thing tomorrow.
Should have your new campaign uploaded by tomorrow afternoon my time (I'm GMT+8 at the moment).
Goodnight all... ZZzzzz... :D

Our new campaign for June 7th PM is now available for download...
Frustratingly, the BA downloader insists you delete your current campaign before it will recognise the new one, so please complete any current games first.

For attackers & defenders, note that arriving BGs deploy from the direction that they came from...
And if that's from the air, it's where the gliders and parachutes are (which may not be immediately visible).

All of our previous scenarios continue to be included, so if you're playing Vimont, Villers-Bocage or Hillman, remember to play the PM versions...
Some German units are marked with an asterisk (*). This indicates that its BG is "out of supply" and that unit suffers morale penalties...
Out of supply volksgrenadiers are unlikely to do well one-on-one versus paratroopers...

Happy hunting guys!

For players new to GJS'44, thought it might be worth a quick explanation, of why these battles happened...
GottaLove88s wrote:Gents, Here are the battles which look likely to happen next.
Since many players are new, I've also given a flavour of what to expect where.
To help with assigning (volunteering? ;-)) for the maps...
Good luck all!

Upcoming Battles - June 7th PM

CAEN: 6al/6 (AMR+) ME v Ost/411/716 (P-)
Messy urban environment, dominated by a castle, with a port at its heart. Infantry/scouts/recon essential. To win here you need to train in cities, eg. Ortona.
Parachute attack ordered by Allied commander on the German defender that arrived in Caen during the same turn
GottaLove88s wrote:VIMONT: 125/21Pz AFD v 3/6ab (MR)
VILLERS-BOCAGE: 192/21Pz AFD v 5al/6 (MR)

Both of these are deceptive. At first glance they appear to be open, tank country, and indeed they are, but there are lots of trees and cornfields to hide in, plus scattered stony river fords, dune grass, and rough ground in fields, where anything, from a piat to a 17pdr, can sit and wait in secret. Played well, these can go either way. Played aggressively, you'll get a battering as Allies or as Germans.
Allied paras landed in and captured the two German reinforcement zones on June 6th, while they lay undefended. Now the Germans must win back at least one of these sectors to regain access to their supplies. Critical battles for both sides...
GottaLove88s wrote:HILLMAN BATTERY: 7/3cdn (N) AFD v II/726/716 (AMRP-) [this one's tbc pending what happens during June 7th AM?]
Modelled somewhat close to reality, these 152mm coastal batteries were actually taken from behind in WW2. So Hillman should be a tough ask when it's assaulted from the front, but the Allies benefit from their devastating Naval Artillery and II/726/716 may have been weakened by a prior attack during June 7th AM.
Difficult frontal assaults by partially wounded Allied brigades continuing inland after they were victorious on their beaches on June 6th.
