No doesn't tell me anything. But I remember a movie about a Russian tank crew that gets separated from their unit with their tank and fights for their survival. it was well done. i forget the title, maybe it was even called “The Tank” but it was no laughing matter.

I saw this dumb film it's even dumber than Rimbaud 3 )))) Don't confuse a feature film and a documentary report !)))))) If you decided to make the war in Afghanistan in your mod based on this film, the former whole USSR will laugh at you

To be honest ; your scenario wrote the story for me.
I can't wait to see this "mujahideen campaign" ; I guess there will be more scenarios like this.
What side will we command, by the way ? I'd totally understand if you prefer to keep mystery about it

Well it won't be a mini-campaign, there will be more missions, I'm not sure how many yet. Playable on the Soviet side (not NATO). And I have planned the addition of “new” units such as KGB Alfa Team or Afghan police, mortar unit for Mujahideen and some more. But it will take a while as I am not working on it continuously. But of course I will post progress here from time to time.

The use of RPG-2 and RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launchers, their foreign copies, as well as Type 78 and M-20 recoilless guns against Soviet armoured vehicles in Afghanistan led to the installation of additional protection on tanks, BMPs and APCs.
In particular, the ‘sixty-second’, the main vehicles of the 40th Army, began to be fitted with lattice screens. This not too complicated, at first glance, development demonstrated its effectiveness - enemy rocket-propelled grenades were neutralised without detonation.
As a rule, grids were mounted on the sides and stern of the hull, as well as on the rear of the turret. In addition, measures were introduced to increase the resistance of frontal projections, and mine protection of the bottom was strengthened. The engine power was increased and the running gear was improved.
Later, these successful solutions were tested many times in various military conflicts, for example, in Syria.
Interestingly, it was in Afghanistan that the first overhead screens were seen on the T-62, but at that time they fulfilled a completely different role - they were used to protect the crews from the sun.
Now, as we know, they are designed for other purposes - to resist drops of miniature bombs from UAVs, as well as to protect against FPV-drones, and their design is certainly different from what it was more than four decades ago.

Against the background of the widely known Afghan special operations of the top-secret units of the USSR KGB and the USSR Ministry of Defence ‘Alpha’, ‘Cascade’, ‘Zenit’ and ‘Omega’, the role of the modest Soviet policemen sent across the river has for many years been completely undeservedly hushed up. And few people know what more than 3,900 employees of the country's internal affairs bodies, who were sent on official business trips to Afghanistan from 1978 to 1992, were actually doing in that strange war.

Here are a few instructions on how to create your own hero unit in a scenario.
First I open the scenario editor, select a scenario, choose a suitable unit and set it up.
In this case, it's the Isa Khel scenario and a German KSK unit.

- P1.png (288.07 KiB) Viewed 1396 times
Now I open the Heroes folder under UI in Modern Conflicts. As you can see, I have already created a few new hero images. Everyone can decide for themselves, the images should be 115x115 in size. This can be easily scaled with Paint and I use the PNG format.

- P2.png (218.22 KiB) Viewed 1396 times
I now copy the name of a picture and click on the previously selected unit in the editor with left-click and shift-key. In the window that opens you can see the button “Heroes” at the bottom right, I click on it and another window opens. I now paste the copied name into the “Image” column and add a dot and png after it.

- P3.png (181.27 KiB) Viewed 1396 times
Now I think of a name and insert it under the corresponding column.
Then I think about which values I will give this unit. Here everyone should think carefully about how high the value should be set because an indestructible HULK unit is quickly created. You can also reduce the strength by putting a - (minus) in front of the number.

As soon as I have changed all the values, I press ok and save the scenario.
This is followed by the obligatory test in which I start the scenario and check everything.

You don't have to put a value in every column, one is enough. For an artillery unit, for example, you can just put a 1 under the “Range” column and its firing range has increased by one hex.
Have fun trying it out.

In August 2011, a Boeing CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter was shot down by a rocket-propelled grenade launcher in Wardak vilayat in central Afghanistan. Over time, Western publications labelled the Taliban rocket-propelled grenade launcher's aimed launch as the most expensive RPG-7 shot in history. Its direct consequence was the largest single loss of the US Navy's Special Operations Forces SEALs, better known as Detachment 6 or the Seals. Their colleagues, three months earlier, had eliminated the odious Osama bin Laden in northeastern Pakistan. But it was hardly a revenge of the banned al-Qaeda, more likely the grenade launcher was just lucky. Especially since hunting with a simple grenade launcher against low-flying or hovering helicopters has been practised by local militants since the Afghan war with the USSR, and in general, has a rather eventful history.

Not feasible for scenarios and campaigns at the moment. Modern Conflict lacks the necessary nations and the corresponding flags for publication. I already hinted at this in the Afghanistan campaign. In future I will only work with existing nations. But I don't have the time or motivation for that at the moment either.
