Tight game in which the Lydian commander for once worked out what to do with all his horses.

lydianed (Lydians) defeated Zardoz02 (Lysimachids) 40-7

Zardoz02 got some terrible dice results which meant his pikes underperformed. The Lydian cavalry successfully pinned a number of Lysimachid infantry units allowing the Lydian hoplites to gang up on their opponents. Thanks for the game.

melm(Sassanid) beat IMC(Visigoth) 62-47.

Very good game. The right flank of my foot line totally wiped out by Visigoth after killing my two cataphracts. At last elephants prevailed from two sides.

The Persian archers, with the benefit of high ground, manage to do enough damage to the attacking Cypriots to resist the phalanx in melee.

Yes, that's what I am saying. The vote is roughly 50-50 so that is enough to have a trial in one section next season (Season 5), but I think the current numbers mean that larger armies will not be rolled out right across the tournament in Season 6 even if the trial is successful (I expect it will work out just fine). There isn't the support for doing that so it is likely that, from Season 6 onwards, just one section each season will offer players the chance to use the larger 1600 pt armies.

Excellent! The support for 2000 point armies is still climbing though

Well played by ggarynorman. The cataphracts and legions looked unstoppable but the Arab numbers started to tell and a number of the Palmyran bowmen routed leaving gap in the line.

melm(Sassanid Persian) beat ggarynorman(Byzantine） 41-5。

I feel sorry that my C-in-C fell from the elephant on the very last turn when he led the charge into the flank of Byzantine lancers. He didn't manage to see the victory.
