On a battlefield mixed with rough going and woods on one flank and open on the other, both armies tried to turn the left flanks of their opponents. The Germans had better success defeating the Ghurid right flanking attack and turning the Ghurid left flank late in the battle. The difference was the Ghurids defeating the German center in a long series of combats with heavy losses on both sides. Lady Luck played an important role as a superior German dismounted knight unit improbably recoiled in an attack on a Ghurid Muslim spear unit which provided a flank attack that started the eventual collapse of the German center. Very good game.
