Vimont finished...Paras remain. Germans losses - 17 units, British losses - 5 units
Germans held one flag at the end...

I confirm the result, losses and flags. Good game!
3/6 invites 125/21 over for dinner in Vimont on June 7 PM.

Sorry for the loss at Vimont Morge4, I had a rough go myself there against Jon the other day. It's not as easy as it looks from the view of the panzers!
Ok, so I've updated the map to reflect that the Axis BG - II/22/21Pz has avoided dissolution by holding a flag and is holding on in the sector.
125/21 must now stop and engage the 3/6 Airborne in an AFD
Axis and Allied command, please info the GM's on BG commanders.
(ps - congrats KingT...your crazy plan may work out yet!)
[Edit-Consensus dictates BG is not withdrawn but will remain in sector much like a beach landing, Jon to amend accordingly]

Ok, so I've updated the map to reflect that the Axis BG - II/22/21Pz has avoided dissolution by holding a flag and is *withdrawn off-board (note; it may return later as a reinforcement, or perhaps reform with the 125/21 if they suffer the same fate!).

*There is no rule currently covering this, so I'm thinking on my feet here...seems to makes sense...let me know if anyone has a problem with it and what the alternate should be...and it better be good!...otherwise, consider this the rule..I'll get Jon to amend at his convenience.
For the strategic map, one minor correction, II/22/21 has 15 units left after 17 losses.
I think the group will be stuck on the Vimont sector until June 8, just like we would if we were losing on a beach.
* Forgot to add that I'll continue to lead 3/6 in the second June 7 battle.

Thanks KingT, not sure how I came to 19?! Corrected.

It is a situation that isn't covered by the current rules...well, technically it is (in theory, the BG should simply move to a random enemy controlled sector...but that would go against the spirit of the game). So we once again have a bit of a rules problem. It could play out in one of three ways...
1) Be treated as is in the current rules and the BG is simply moved at random to an adjacent sector.
2) Be treated like a beach landing and simply hold in the sector.
3) Be withdrawn off-board.
I haven't heard back from Jon on the issue yet...commanders, I invite you to email the GM's with your thoughts.

Thanks KIngT, added...good luck.

I am going to lose my game but we have a number of turns left. (6 I think). I have only 4 units left. I will (I think) holding a flag. I played really poorly.

Yes, the new mechanics threw me (as did my impatience). I am winning 4 other games I am playing (on both sides) in villers and vimont.

Just a quick note; I have corrected the map to show actual moves in the results and no longer the ordered moves (which can still be seen for the 7th) just to clarify that BG's stopping to battle are in fact stopped and can move no further. Hope I haven't confused anyone (other than myself of course!).

Hi Mac. I am not sure as to why there is confusion, ie the Gold D1 outcome was an unchallenged outcome, so why any thought as to why this outcome would.

Axis commander Mowby1, just a quick reminder, I'll need BG commander names for the Caen and Vimont II batttles (no rush...just a reminder).
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply, strategic map updated.
We'll need to wait on the maps for both of those though (I'm getting under the hood and familiar with setting up MP games but want to defer these to Jon for now).
Good luck!

Hey Mac, Can you update the OOB with all of the completed battles ->
http://bit.ly/BA88gjs44oob
Once, Vimont and Villers-Bocage finish, I'll upload Caen, V and VB together... If I understand correctly, there won't be a 2nd battle in Caen, June 7th, right?
Accepting Mlazar's forum comments at face value (and he is usually
very good), it was probably unfair throwing him straight into GJS'44 with zero practice, with all of its mods (swap, walking/stronger mortars, moving HMGs, smoke, 8-man infantry, 4-man piats, etc) versus KingT and Justin, who now know everything intuitively inside out.
mlazar wrote:Yes, the new mechanics threw me (as did my impatience). I am winning 4 other games I am playing (on both sides) in villers and vimont.
Let's give Mowby the time and space to play a few dummy 'rounds on the current battle maps, both to get used to our mods and different game mechanics, and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of his team mates, to inform his command decisions.
Of course it won't get him up to where KingT, Random and Jcb already are, but it might make it more of a 60/40 than a 90/10... From a GM's perspective, it's great to see the Germans beginning to level the playing field...

If i did this all over, I bet I would win handily. Max out the infantry, Bomb the town, THEN advance. Repeat with the corn field. Can't believe how bad I played.

Sorry for your luck mlazar. At least you significantly weakened that AB for the next attack.
Which will be...
192/21pz Attack Fixed Denfence v. 5/6Ab at Villers-Bocage
Commanders, at your earliest convenience please let me know BG command.
Strategic map updated...OOB to be released shortly. Thanks.
