No -you're thinking of the Penguin.
We have our first random event played - The Covenanter Empire have forced the 'peasants of Caanan' (not my phrase) to build a city and even made them pay for the materials! Rumour has it that they even forced them to accept Covenanter coloured wallpaper in the inns of said city.

i assume some events you take care of....like....earthquake flattens all my cities type events....but you will let me know the actual outcome??...i.e....how much the event costs me if there is a randomness to the actual cost involved?

Yes I'm working my way through the red cards now. Obviously the black cards I await the player informing me if they want to play it on themselves or another.

Not only that but we chose a colour they had to buy from us so the cost of the city is an extra 10%, due to markup and enemy of my friends tax

petergarnett wrote:The change to 500 point armies means a slight change to the rules. In line with earlier posts / discussions we are going to have 2 players fight only one war against each other so no more counter-invasions. If the invader can win 2 battles and there is no outstanding siege then he takes the area. The defender can concede the area earlier if he chooses to but cannot carry onto a third consecutive battle. Where a city is involved it means that if as defender you lose a battle your choice is to fight again or withdraw into the city. If you fight again and lose then the area is conceded. And if you fight again and win then the attacker must withdraw - using 500 point armies after 2 battles there will not be enough left to carry on fighting IMO. Any 2nd battle in this area must use the same armies and reduce them as usual.
If/when the attacker withdraws then the defender may carry the war into one of his opponents area. Both sides get new army at 500 points.
Peter:
Could you please add this to the player guidance thread, I don't think its all there at present.

OK I'll paste it in.
A few other points arising recently:-
In addition to Random Events I check for Slave Revolts and for Barbarian Incursions during the normal campaign turns. A high morale makes Slaves jealous and a large plump treasury attracts Barbarians. Chances of either are low though (base 1 on 1d20 modified by morale/treasury). I didn't roll this in the Spring as I felt we have enough going on.
PR events are 100 each so where a player has spend say 300 on the same event I have placed one in 3 areas. If you lose the area the morale gain is taken off and added to the new owner.
Anytime you want to know your treasury just PM me. IMO it should not be public info.
I'll inform those concerned of wars caused by those 5 Kings (War Party card).
Scar will kindly be adding a '*' on the map to denote all areas where there is a city.
I'm looking to close off the Summer phase at the end of tonight (GMT) although I will still accept a reply to a PM I have sent you after that.
So final chances to build / make alliances folks. I'm off now to enjoy a nice Sunday cravery at the pub.
Wars?

Does anyone know what the list is of existing wars/campaigns at the moment before Peter adjudicates the Kings? I'm not up to scrolling through 30+ pages of posts in this thread to figure out who is still fighting whom.
If the info is encoded on Scar's map, I don't htink I'm seeing it unless it is the colored hexes next to areas. That might be it but it seems mor elimited at this point than I would have guessed.

The wars are shown by the plain hexes (with the identification number of each attacking country) next to the coloured provinces that are under attack. Scar relies on us for information and I've just sent him an update on my latest info ( Crimea attacking Arrakis (me), Hyperborai and Carthage) as requested by Peter. So the map won't show the latest situation until all the latest updates are in.

Map is up to date for Egypt: invading Carthage; invading Canaan; defending against Canaan.

The map hasn't been updated in quite some time. For ex. I'm no longer at war with Utopia but have been invaded by Rome and the Covenanter Empire
No wonder since Scar has his own campaign; 100YW

The Armenian King welcomes the summer months , the warmth ensues throughout his loins and looks at his map to see whose land could begat some women. For years he has looked upon the women of Canaan with fondness , he call his generals and declares "pillage season" open for Canaan !
March forward my loyal Subjects
March to war , and victory.

Huh? If you attack your neighbor you are fighting over his province right? So how do you lose a province? Ditto if you attack after crossign an allies territory. What did I miss?
Sorry, just catching up now. My understanding is that we are going to the 1 battle is a war rather than the invasion/counterinvasion thing, so that whomever loses two battles loses a province, whether they initiated the attack or not. The question is what happens if you cross an allies' territory and then lose 2 battles. Do you lose a province, your ally lose a province, or noone lose a province?
So many questions...

Sorry I thought it was if you invade and defeat the enemy twice they lose the province period. Only invaders can gain provinces, not invadees. If I am mistaken and it is the case that regardless of who invades who he who loses twice loses a province then say so now please.

Would make sense that those invaded would lose the territory, since the battle is in your lands not those of the invader.
Quick note on a recent discovery we made in the 100YW campaign, if you post a 500 point game at least one of the players must be at 500 points. if both players are below the listed game points the game will not launch. Actual point value does not matter but at least one of you has to be at the game points level to get it to launch.
Hope that is clear

The Lord of Arrakis determines to restore his fortunes and reward his loyal followers. He looks to the fertile lands to the south-east whose monarch is absent plundering abroad. Forces are assembled, weapons sharpened and the army marches with the cry - onwards to Armenia and victory. War is declared!
