Unfortunately nothing went right for Byzantium - First a map with wide open space and then very poor luck with the combat rolls as the numerous Bedouin horse whirled around.

wow this was a wild one
indo greeks were at 59 twice, but battled back and almost stole it, and the ptolemy army rallied a troop to avoid the abyss as well
...the Ptolemaics had a fragged Indian elephant with a leader lurking in the rear, had the general been able to rally the elephant (multiple turn attempts), it would have been an ugly finish for the Egyptians. But to no avail, the elephants wanted no part of the pike blocks, even from the backside. an epic!

After several disappointments with my Bretons, I finally managed a win in this friendly game. Credit to my opponent for playing aggressively even after losing the cavalry battle on one flank and faced with my Breton foot running away to the safety of a wood, from where they counter-attacked successfully.

Division C

Geffalrus (Athenians) defeats lydianed (Assyrians) 49-8. Good game to my opponent.

While the Athenians were worried about the large rough patch in the center of the map and the large amount of Assyrian cavalry on the flanks, they were able to neutralize the ground by walking around it, and the cavalry through a combination of skirmishers and levy hoplites. At that point, the armored hoplites were free to descend upon the chewy center of the Assyrian line and do what they do best.
