olddog52 won, but neither of us can remember the score... my recollection was there was a 25 pt difference.

It was a difficult battle, and while the cavalry of both sides were engaged on the vast outskirts, the infantry met in the narrow strip of ground between the mountains and the hills. The Persian infantry were completely unable to hold off the Roman legions, but the elephants swept through the Roman army mercilessly.

Triarii (Assyrian with Neo-Hittite) defeats Bob Ganoush (Phoenicians and Neo-Hittites) 42-12

The Phoenicians came on screened by lights and with foot massed in the centre.
The Assyrians overlapped and were able to trap the light screen and shoot up the Phoenician chariots and then foot before they could use their close combat superiority.

Triarii (Armenians) beats Bagatrix1805 (Andalusian) 52-26.

Outnumbered Andalusian cavalry saw off the Armenian and Byzantine cavalry on the right. However initially hidden in the woods Armenian MI and skirmishers overwhelmed Arab archers on the left and flanked the infantry assault on Byzantine and Armenian infantry who were holding Arab veteran spears on a high hill. The Byzantine infantry were helped immensely by a very unlucky push back by those veteran spears.

Irish (Bruce) 1315-1318 ad beats tyronec 40:15

at a certain time my knights and spearmen could withstand vs crossbows and knights's charges in the center till the moment once my cav could attack opponent's infantry in the center from a flank and my irish infantries could envelope tyronec infantry on one of the flanks. at the end on some melees i had good dice rolls to finish the game quickly.
