To paraphrase my esteemed opponent, the Egyptians were always the favourites.

Two very similar armies - the key differences were that the OG's were able to get their guard infantry into contact earlier and to support the chariots with additional archery.

Thanks to Gdod for the game and to the rest of my opponents in this division.

angusosborne (Carthaginian) defeats Morat (Seleucid) 44-18

Morat made the mistake of not requesting a reroll on a battlefield split by a deep stream. The Seleucids got across most of it and had success in the centre, but a swarm of cheap medium Carthaginian foot swarmed their left flank and broke the army.

it was difficult to withstand vs eric's steady advance in the centre and its edges where opponent greatly used shooting power of all kinds of troops and infantry. Once my cavs could arrive to the edges of the centre from flanks they did many flanking maneuvres and gave a victory for me.

Well played Konstantin. I made a few mistakes but one was a big mistake. Not moving and turning a raw Xbow unit to protect the flank of one of my units, from a flank attack by a cavalry unit. It would have meant only 1 flank attack but instead there were 2 and the cavalry unit followed up and hit the flank of another unit of mine and routed it.

Another thing is you may feel you are able to rout the units in front of you before the enemy cavalry arrives. It never seems to happen so from now on I intend to keep a few units back to protect my rear.
