Curses the hiddiots!
We like our Gallic wines...we shall fight in the vineyards, we will fight by the presses, we will hurl vats (empties) at you until you falter!

For maintenance:
I have a battle that just ended. I don't want to stop the fighting. Can I add reinforcements to the new army (surviving pts from battle 1 + maintenance reinforcements) since I haven't issued/accepted the next challenge that continues the fighting in the province?

We will do no such thing. King Blathergut might try to continue his defence or he can beg the high and mighty Rome for help.
It bother us not. We have been victorious and will defend what's now rightfully ours.
By the way,we have friends too...
Baal-hidde, Lord of Canaan
Rome does not chose allies that beg, nor do we ask or insinuate our friends must shed blood on our behalf. They will join or not on their own accord.
***uh, should i send the challenge with the tradiotall 650 cap or wait to see if this changes??

I would suggest you wait for a sign from the almighty God, lest you lose his favour and your lands are devoured by locusts.... or some SoA army of the apocolypse

Yeah , me and Hidde agreed to wait, problem is the boys in the legions are eager to go, also they fear decimation if the Great One proclaims only smaller armies can exist legally in the lost world..

Scar should be posting the new map shortly in the other Lost World player guide thread. If you scroll to the right you see a small 5 x 5 grid. In it's boxes you see the number of each player.
The edges of the grid wrap around, e.g. go off the left you come on the right, off the bottom you come onto the top etc.
This means each player/box is adjacent to 8 others (you can go diagonally). Therefore you can only move to one of those 8 and only those 8 can move into your country.
Players were randomly positioned onto the grid with the two new players (we may have a 3rd new one coming) added to the bottom.
Hope this makes sense!
You should now be able to make more meaningful alliances &/wars.
I'm still considering the pros/cons of allowing movement through a country with it's permission but for now assume you cannot do this. Equally we may add choke points, i.e. each player may select one of the 8 adjacent countries and delcare an impassible mountain range! Again I need to fully consider this.
Finally the majority have voted for 500 point armies so I'll figure out the implications of this and amend the rules accordingly.
I'm back Friday afternoon (GMT).
Enjoy the diplomacy guys!

Any word on SOA armies, or is that still pending?
What map?

The URL for the new map posted by Scar is not working at least for me. I'm just seeing a blank post about the map but was able to get the URL by quoting that post. When pasted into my browser the URL was not found and brought up a Yahoo search page instead.

I actually didn't see a URL, just a red X. Is the URL somewhere?

There no map or anything else showing on my screen for that post - other than the statement at the bottom listing when it was last edited.

Boo to the majority

, really enjoyed the epic 650 point battles (but can understand certain armies might feel tedious)
Hmm, should we all wait to make any attacks, would hate to issue a challenge and find my army now needs a fleet to get to the enemy (or mountain gear)....

If you use the "quote" button on the map post, you will see the url in the quoted text. (I thought you had finally learned about the "quote" button by now

.)

Maybe we should have checked with the Division A guys to find out whether the Illyrians are any easier at 500?

Using a good URL? Scar has updated it since I had the problem this morning. I currently cannot get to the current URL due to firewall at work so don't know if the current one will work or not. If you can get to the jpeg file, you might be able to use a right click to save the image locally.
Maybe we need to get Amaz_Ed to do a map for the campaign. The one he's done for Scar's 100 Years War campaign is really nice and seems to work quite well

I guess that it doesn't matter to me now, as I'm not adjacent to him. Or to Parthia. And that leaves me with three armies with nothing to do. I do notice that you and I are adjacent ... (reaches for order-writing quill)
