Valiant effort by the Egyptians under Devoncop but they just did not have enough OffSp to counter the Carthaginians.

An incredibly messy battle. The Carthaginians initially prevailed on the left flank due to the fortuitous disruption of a unit right in the middle of the Phokian contingent. But then the weight of the Phokian armoured hoplites began to shatter the Carthaginian centre, so, in desperation they launched an all-out attack on the Phokian left which quickly routed the enemy there. Now the Carthaginians held both the wings and the Phokians held the centre. At one point the Carthaginians seemed to be cruising to victory at 58-40, but within a turn they were behind again at 48-46, as three Phokian units rallied far behind their own lines. The Carthaginians eventually just had enough to get over the winning line, but both armies were absolutely battered by the end. Well played ahuyton.

Division D

Geffalrus (Antigonid) defeated MorkintheFree (Pyrrhic) 58-31. Very tough battle for both sides.

In true Hellenistic fashion, the right flanks of both armies defeated the forces on the opposing left and then wheeled towards the center phalanx (that spent a lot of time staring at each other). The Pyrrhic right utilized an interesting combination of mass hoplites and cavalry to drive back the superior Antigonid cavalry and supporting Thracians. The cavalry and Thracians ended up sacrificing their lives to give the center phalanx enough time to roll forward and defeat the Pyrrhic phalanx, with some help from the victorious Thureophoroi that had secured the mountain dominating the right flank. The Pyrrhic raw phalanx units ultimately held out the longest despite facing the Antigonid Royal Guard phalanx. Victory was eventually gained when a routed unit of Royal Guard rallied and gave the Antigonids a 25% lead after the Pyrrhic turn.
