There were more mounted units in this TDC game, than in any I have played before.

Once more I was luckier.

Nearly halfway through so ideally all players should have completed half of their games.

Div A - Eric leads the way but tyrone, Mark and Stew all have enough games in hand to overtake.

Div B - Bodhran and Anderarcos look favourites to win the division BUT IMC, Blagrot and Morat could overtake.

Div C - Still a bit too early as Ironclad remainss in the lead.

Morat (Sarmatians/Germans) beat mh5064 Byzantine 551-578AD 43-2

Byzantine sweep round the Sarmatian right very nearly came off. But the Sarmatians just managed to get enough forces across to hold them out before the supporting warbands arrived.

Battle was much tighter than the score suggests. Thanks to mh5064 for the battle.

Blagrot (Jewish) beat MH5064 (Byzantine) 48% - 8%

A bad day for the Byzantines who deployed a mass of horse backed by elite infantry. The lancers and horse archers took heavy casualties from the Jewish skirmishers and horse archers and pushing into combat only helped a little. A cascade of collapses from counter-charging cataphracts against the cavalry engaged with the medium spears finished the battle abruptly. Thanks for the game

What happens if Hannibal had to fight the later Roman army that had already found some Numidian allies?

I think that Hannibal was not one of the truly great generals. His early victories were against some very very incompetent Roman commanders. Lake Trasimene was the major example. BTW gents, I would recommend reading about Lake Trasimene. Scipio, was a VG general and he had Numidian allies, increased the number of Roman cavalry and basically bettered Hannibal.

Blagrot (Crusaders) beat Anderarcos (Normans) 55% - 26%

The crusader knights with crossbow support proved far stronger than their Norman counterparts and had enough in the tank to overrun many of the spearmen too. Thanks for the game
