Sounds good!Shards wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 2:41 pmThat is very unlikely. There's always risk factors, and we plan against them, but I'm not sure quite how COVID-19 is more of a threat than anything else at this stage.MickMannock wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 6:36 am
By the way, is there any risk of the pandemic virus delaying the release of the game?
I second that!TJLionheart wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 10:53 pm Seems to me that they should release it early so us Coronavirus homebound people have something productive to do.
Not quite the release version, but close.adiekmann wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:36 pm Not for you though! Based on your Youtube videos you already have the release version to play, you lucky dog!
Given your experience with the game, specifically managing the core slots, would you recomend a wide (many units, not overstrength) core or a tall (fewer units which are overstrength) core?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:53 pmNot quite the release version, but close.adiekmann wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:36 pm Not for you though! Waiting for the release now, like the rest of you.
OS is very, very powerful if used correctly, as you can focus max killing power into a few attacks/hexes.MickMannock wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:32 pmGiven your experience with the game, specifically managing the core slots, would you recomend a wide (many units, not overstrength) core or a tall (fewer units which are overstrength) core?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:53 pmNot quite the release version, but close.adiekmann wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:36 pm Not for you though! Good question. Work shut down for the next three weeks, so I have plenty of time to think about the game while I wait for Thursday to arrive.MickMannock wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:32 pmGiven your experience with the game, specifically managing the core slots, would you recomend a wide (many units, not overstrength) core or a tall (fewer units which are overstrength) core?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:53 pmNot quite the release version, but close.adiekmann wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:36 pm Not for you though! Inefficient supply works fine. You sometimes need to cool down your overrunning tanks, but ammo is rarely a problem if you play calmly. Fuel is sometimes a problem for recon cars, but mostly not a big deal.adiekmann wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:57 pmGood question. One such question that I continue to ponder is which General traits to choose. I am pretty well decided which positive traits I'll want, but most of the negative/weakness traits still have me undecided.
Nexusno, how's Ineffecient Supply working out for you thus far?
Thanks for the input!nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:52 pm
OS is very, very powerful if used correctly, as you can focus max killing power into a few attacks/hexes.
But you can usually not afford to OS everything...
... so I would recommend a mix actually. A few key max (or nearly max) OS+Hero units are really, really useful.
Then you can get some units slightly OS for not many points, because they have a low base cost. So a few of those.
There rest stay at base str.
If you play on higher difficulties, and especially the mode that gives all enemies +5 str, OS becomes even more important IMO.
Oh, and if you go the OS route, ALWAYS consider getting Infantry/Panzer General traits. They will save a ton of slots.
Oh, so you can reduce the overstrength of certain units and get the equivalent prestige points back?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:20 pm They cut the slot cost of infantry / tanks respectively by 25% This is significant as OS units can cost a lot of slots.
You can freely manipulate overstrength between scenarios.
Yes.MickMannock wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 6:54 amOh, so you can reduce the overstrength of certain units and get the equivalent prestige points back?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:20 pm They cut the slot cost of infantry / tanks respectively by 25% This is significant as OS units can cost a lot of slots.

Didn't realize that during the beta, but that is good. Means increased flexibility, so one can correct some of the unfortunate mistakes that are bound to happen.nexusno2000 wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 7:59 amYes.MickMannock wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 6:54 amOh, so you can reduce the overstrength of certain units and get the equivalent prestige points back?nexusno2000 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:20 pm They cut the slot cost of infantry / tanks respectively by 25% This is significant as OS units can cost a lot of slots.
