I've adjusted the scoring sheets for lost generals. If there are any more then please let me know.

This looks like it will be an interesting turn. We have already started with some excitement, with Atropatene rebelling against their overlord. Will the Seleucid Empire suppress the rebellion, will they attack elsewhere, or will they be attacked before they can act?

Hsiung-nu - AlessandroD moves one area to attack Mountain Indians - SnuggleBunnies. The Mountain Indians (1,200 force points) sets up the battle in Map type: Middle Eastern Mountains, against Hsiung-nu (1,100 force points).

The Mountain Indians had movement sequence number 2, so it is now time for MSN 3 to move: Nabataea - hidde

After the wonderous delights of the Ptolemaic kingdom it might be prudent to make a visit to our arab cousins in the east
before conquer the mighty kingdoms to the north.
Nabataea attacks the Arab Tribes.

Movement Sequence Number 7 is next: Parthia - ianiow. I bet that he didn't think that he would be moving fourth with a MSN of 7.

Parthia will be heading into the mountains for some altitude training. The Atropatenes will be expected to host the accomodation and refreshments.

I suppose its now me with number 8: the Saka Horde heads off for battle and plunder in Bactria.

It occurs to me that one incentive to launch longer distance attacks through any temporarily vacant stages would be to give the moving army the chance of plunder (ie gaining victory points) as it passes through on the way to the battle destination. That would make up for fighting against the odds. A variation of this would be to half the plunder obtained if the battle results in defeat.

Well, I suppose I have no excuse if I lose this one, given the disparity in points. Why then am I not feeling especially confident?

Even if we could set up battles with 50 force point increments as I would like, a four area move would still cost 200 force points. Good luck to both of you.

There is a story in DBA circles that Phil Barker changed the rules for Light Horse when he lost a tournament game at Historicon using them. Sometimes game designers just need the proper "feedback". :D

Not sure if it matters but I thought this was supposed to be an autofill tournament? The game Pete set up was a picked list. I personally don't mind either way, I just wanted to clarify. I am willing to play it out in any case.

The campaign rules suggest using Auto Force Selection, but if both players want to use the Default Force Selection then that is OK with me. Personally, I don't like the min-maxing of armies against a specific enemy, especially when the battlefield terrain is known. It doesn't seem realistic to me.

Danny,

I've taken the liberty of setting up our game. Atropatene - Ulysisgrunt. Atropatene (1,200 force points) sets up the battle, map type Middle-Eastern Hilly, against Parthia (1,100 force points) AUTO army selection.
