If I was willing to buy anything I'd own OOB, I'd own that Russian Panzer Strategy garbage, I'd own Star General, etc. I own none of the above. I'll buy this if it's good and Slitherine can show me that their quality control has improved. That's it.

Apparently PC2 has been shown to a few people.
Was reading an article on wargamer.com
https://www.wargamer.com/articles/hands ... successor/
Quote from that article (emphasis mine).
Close Combat's newest iteration, The Bloody First, probably won't be the game that leads the way in this regard as its transition to 3D isn’t as comfortable as, say, Panzer Corps 2 (which is looking awesome).
So..project is alive and kicking...and...it's looking good!

in 2 days it will be 2 months ago since Alberto said we would get info very soon, and over a year ago the trailer was announced. These guys are worse than Blizzard Entertainment.

Another quote from another
article on Wargamer.
We recently went to see Matrix/Slitherine to check out some of their upcoming games. You’ll have already seen the articles for Armored Brigade and Close Combat – we’ve got one on Panzer Corps 2 on the way as well!
I guess we'll see more in a few weeks or so.

Agree, the UI looks great.
Dynamically/procedurally generated maps sounds like a nice feature.
Too bad they mention nothing about modding, probably the most important feature of PzC.

It is a pity they didn't show it here.
You can see that we are worse than Wargamer for devs.

To get coverage we have to give exclusives to magazines. Once they've posted we can share the info. That's the strange world we live in...

OK, now that they've posted... can you provide any more detail about the dynamic maps? In particular, is it true that there won't be historical maps and scenarios in the game? Are all the fights on random maps, as implied by the article, or will it work some other way?
I'm recalling an old SSI game called Panzer Strike that I played a lot on the C64 of yore. It was tactical scale, very complex and not a bad simulation for its day. It had all random maps, with battles stitched together into a campaign. You could choose your own force composition (within a given number of points), etc. So I can see it working, just curious about this crucial element of PC2!
Thanks!

I hope someone from Wargamer misunderstood someone from Slitherine.
If the game will not be played on historical maps and there will be no historical battles and campaigns, I will
NOT BUY this game for sure.
It's good that I have OoB ...

This looks like a bad joke - like they assembled something in a day. And it looks like a board game.

There are historical maps and campaigns. I'm not sure what makes you think there will not be.

I think it was this line:
"Doing historical battles is also a potential issue due to the dynamic maps - unless they created them by hand, the battlespace wouldn't resemble the historical geography of an area."
You have to admit, it gives the strong impression that DLCs wouldn't be covering historical campaigns because the maps are dynamic, and devs wouldn't be either willing or able to do hand-drawn maps. And if hand-drawn maps were out for DLCs, people were I think understandably concerned that hand-drawn maps (and thus historical battles) were out for the base game as well.
A bit of clarification, perhaps? What are dynamic maps - how do they work?
Maybe a preliminary list of campaigns or battles?
Will devs be engaging with the community more, now that the first article is out?

I agree that quote from Wargamer is misleading; If there are historical map in base game, which there better be and not just DLCs or you just lost a customer bc of penny pinching us, you may want to call Wargamer up and chastise them for that quote bc like us, it most likely left a bitter taste in many mouths.

Also, DEVs if you see this from a long time fan, from PG to PC, now PC2, plz give us the option to put in grid/hexes for more of a wargaming feel of the map, obviously optional.

Is there a tentative release date for this?
