Very cool. Might be nice to change the field textures to adry rice paddy? (Wet rice paddy really seems like rough terrain tho).

I tried to do paddy.
Water base tile with overlay. But I'm not too familiar with the system and I get weird results (overlay facing and stats)

Maybe try a regular tile texture (not with system water?)

For some inspiration, I just ordered FOG:R and Colonies and Conquests expansion book. Will check out how the Japanese are depicted in that rule set. :D

That would be great. I didn't how it would download on the iPad. I guess through the same mechanic as historical scenarios?

Yes, although so far people have done single scenarios, the mechanic allows entire "campaigns" - sets of scenarios with their own scripts, units, textures etc, - to be downloaded. Obviously that won't happen until Jomni has something he wants to share. If so, he can PM me.

Wonder if you would accept this as a rice paddy in season tile:

Suggest adding BushesTile and BushesEdgeDense terrain objects to that might make it look quite good.

A little update, I am in the midst of rewriting the squads.csv file. Unit stats will be patterned after Field of Glory Renaissance Asian armies. After that I will paint some units and create army lists. Priority is to get at least two factions in Skirmish. Editing random map generation script for Japan terrain is also planned. Canned scenarios will be done last and will be somewhat based on GMT Great Battles of History Samurai.

Factions:
Unifiers = Oda, Toyotomi, Tokugawa, Uesugi, Aoi (generic blue force)
Opponents = Takeda, Imagawa, Uesugi, Ishida, Ikko ikki, Akai (generic red force) etc.

Uesugi appears on both sides but at different times. Early on Uesugi was at odds with Takeda. After Takeda was defeated by Oda, Oda and Uesugi battled each other. The actual 3 Unifiers of Japan during the era are Oda, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa. Generic blue and red forces are included for fun.

In Phase 2. I will also build Imjin War (Korean Invasion) armies namely Joseon Koreans and Ming Chinese. These should be paired againt the Japanese Toyotomi clan units in Skirmish.

New 3D assets are not a priority but it may eventually find its way in the mod especially in the terrain aspect. I'd love to see japanese castles, buddhist temples and shinto shrines. For now we only get re-painted villages and bridges.

Well, the "unifiers" name is kind of confusing, cause the whole goal of Takeda Shingen was to unify Japan, he came somewhat close to doing so.

Good notion with the blue and red forces. I can't help you with models, that is entirely out of my department so to speak.
Terrain tiles? Now that is a different kettle of fish. Should you want some specific terrain, let me know and we'll see if I can help out.
