There are even cases where cavalry are described as being in a phalanx :D

Brain ouch. Trying to sort too much info, and not enough time to read.
Back to my orginal question, will there be details for armies for the Near and Middle East covering the pharoes to Alexander the Great?

I'm told that on the Osprey or Slitherine site you can find the release dates for every army list. Most of the Classical lists are in Immortal Fire,. My copy shipped today, according to Chapters Indigo, so it ought to be out really really soon!

Biblical/Mycenaean lists are coming out later, but my impression from another post was this fall...

I saw on the History Channel "Bible Battles."
They do use the word phalanx. Lines from front to back:
3x LF, scout
3x HF, armor, lg shield and spear
3x LF, lt. armor, koplesh
2x slingers
3x archers
2x slingers
2x HF, armor, lg shield and spear
I have the picture as a PDF, how do I post it?

Put the pdf on the web via something like facebook or some other link-happy webware. Hold your nose...

Then, open one of these replies and hit the "img" button. Copy and paste the image location and then hit "img" again.

That ought to get your jpg up.
