That's the camo i used for the guards units.
Thanks a lot for that camo nikivdd. Just a question, that is actually a camo used by some guard units?, or is one you created?

The camo i took is what i believed to give the best contrast between "regular" and "guard". I think this camo comes standard with the sprayshop.

I have found some good figures and a very nice looking camo for Razvedchiki troops (sepecial recon Soviet units)... Would you be interested in incorporating them to the roster?

You don´t have to ask, just tell me :P. Yes, of course, the more variety for the campaign the funnier it would be.

And another addition to the soviet arsenal, this time a forgotten artillery unit, the Katyusha BM-8 on a T-60 chassis:

And finally, the german forces reach the outskirts of Moscow.....

A silly question, what weather parameters you suggest to ensure a frozen terrain 100% of the time?. I set moisture = 100 and frozen ground but some turns I get a dry terrain. Investigating some slitherine maps I found they set 0% to rain and clouds, could be that the solution?.

I think that it says the snow can't melt in clouds. So set moisture to 5 with snow. Then set clouds to 100%. See if that works.

After one week sick I am back to work. Now preparing to stop the Werhmacht final push to the soviet capital.... Welcome to Moscow! :D
Image

I was thinking a pair of ideas to give more versatility to two new soviet units (switch button):
KV-8: Switchable between flamethrower or 45mm cannon.
M16 MGMC: Recon unit, switchable to AA cannons or ground attack (soft).
What do you think of these?

Do you mean more tanks?, I can´t imagine which ones, keep in mind that I will not use the KV-2 tank/arty mode, arty/at mode, etc.

Well, I am always thinking ways to make switchable units, and those ideas about M16 MGMC and KV-8 are good... I would add my two cents about them...

M16 MGMC: This unit is already made into a switcahble one... look into the "Multipurpose Units Thread" , I don't know why should it be classed as Recon

KV-8 flamethrower tank: Now we are talking! A novel application of a multipurpose switcahble unit. I think that a "correct" switchable unit has to be well balanced... For example, if one switch state gives that unit an advantage, it also has to have a disadvanage to compensate. Let me explain...

The KV-8 had a 45 mm gun (with good, but not very good armor piercing capability) and a flamethrower (a very good anti-personnel weapon, but very short-ranged and no AT capability), so...

a) KV-8 switch to 45 mm gun: decent Hard attack value, poor Soft Attack, good Ground defense, after all the KV tanks had very good armor... Same close defense as regular KV gun tanks...

b) KV-8 switch to flamethrower: poor Hard Attack value, very good Soft Attack, good (or may be a little lower, just to compensate its Soft Attack advantage) Ground Defense, and lower Close Defense, because to attack soft targets with the flamethrower, it needs to get closer to its target, and in consequence, it would be more vulnerable to close range attacks from infantry units, specially when fighting in close terrain.

I hope I could explain my ideas in a clear way...

Hm... Now I need to buy a map of MOCKBA so that to avoid getting lost while trying to defend that detailed depiction of the Soviet capital... :D

I hope you dont have to do that and stop the Werhmacht before they reach the city! :P

Hi guille, yes, that´s was my central idea for the KV-8. We share the same opinion for that beast
And regarding the M16 I thought it could be a nice addition to the reduced recon options of the Soviets, but it´s ok, I can try to find another one, at least more realistic.
