That's Alexandrian Macedonians, if you please! With this result I suspect Eumenes will be seeking a new secretarial position as soon as possible. Any openings on Darius staff?
Thanks for the game.

The people coming and going from this tournament have left me a little confused!
Am I meant to put up a challenge for
epos for Gaugamela?
I think I am, so I have set one up for him, password epos.

Gaugamela
Londo (Alexander) 13/45 - epos (Darius) 68/68
This is my favourite of all fogman's creations that I've tried so far! Alexander has a delicate balancing act - to hold out against the masses of Persian cavalry on his flanks, delay them as long as possible, while pushing hard in the centre. Darius, of course, has to do the reverse.
The trick for Alexander, I think, is to withdraw his flank cavalry behind the hoplites, and detach some of them to bolster the attack in the centre. The hoplites will collapse sooner or later under a rain of arrows, but it's OK as long as you're making good progress against the Persian centre. Once the Persian Immortals and Greek mercenaries break, it won't be long before the whole army evaporates, and Darius is riding away at top speed, like in the 1950s movie!
