Thanks again. This does make sense. Some odd results can and have occurred because of this rule. Such is the nature of simulations. As an officer in the US Army, I have been involved with training simulations with real tank and infantry battalions. Even with laser engagement systems and real tanks, there is a limit to the realism. It is an unfortunate fact that the only way to make it real would require getting people killed. I have been playing ancients since 6th edition. In my opinion Field of Glory is the best rule set I have used. I can live with a few odd results.
