I know that but you cant tell that from the pick screen of 4, as with our game i had to go from memory and must admit it wasnt my map pick of choice of the 4

Gday Solly in our game you have chosen a desert map.Rules say you must choose a green map so we need to restart. It also looks to be a Crowded map and Open should be chosen. I will reissue the challange password=restart

solly, turk is right, you may have entered crowded terrain. if so you need to redo your challenges with the appropriate settings. i won initiative and was able to choose a relatively open field but there are a couple of choices that looked rather crowded.

Turk1964(Italian Ostrogothic) 21/40 def uheng1997(Maurikian Byzantine) 39/36

The Goth infantry quickly took control of a Small hill the only defining feature on the map.With Lancers Formed up on the left and right flank of knoll.Arush of blood from the Byzantine commander who sent his Cavalry on a brave charge to sweep the Goths from their perch.The Byzantine Infantry manouvered from the left Flank to Pen in the Gothic right Flank. A bloody battle ensued with the Goths holding the Hill until their Lancers turned the Byzantine army. A brave battle but in the end the Gothic Lancers were too strong for anything the Byantines could throw at them. Thanks For a very good game and well played.

The Ostragoths had a strong central position with their infantry on the hill but cavalry was split. The Byzantines tried to use maneuver to overwhelm the left flank. I think the only error i made was that when I shifted my cav from the right to the left I got to close to the central hill and got shot up. On the left the Byzantines had numbers and position but failed to execute before the holding force on the right folded.

the ostrogoths refused to leave the large hill they were on. the lombards grew tired of lobbing arrows at them and went home.

Very close game. I got lucky to pick up the single bp I needed, otherwise it could have been a win for fogman or possibly a draw.

My mstae in game vs Solly I thought I could customize army.

uheng1997 (Byzantines early) 16/36 vs Mike48 (Italian Ostragoths) 40/39

Battlefield was mostly open with an oasis on the center right. The Byzantines ignored the 1/3 section and loaded up on the left and center. Ostragoths placed a contingent on the Byzantine right, but it was too far away to affect the battle. Byzantines charged up the middle and broke the Ostragoth center in a bloody battle.

Shout out to Rex....

A game where Ians Saxons performed dismally in the centre and must have brought rubber swords as they had very little effect on the Gothic Defensive Spear.Lancers on both sides fought well but when the centre held by the Saxons collapsed there was very little the Lombards could do.Thanks for the game Ian .
