Hi Don,

I was thinking more of the French Wars of Religion period with Huguenots, French Catholic, Dutch 80YW etc rather than 30YW which has been well covered elsewhere. This would definitely exclude salvo swedes and Commanded shot BG's.

when Alasdair and I first discussed this competition we did consider whether our eastern theme should be called an Eastern takeaway I.e. Indian, Chinese, Thai and Japanese! ( no Europeans allowed!).

Maybe we can catch up next week (6th) with Alasdair to finalise.

Don't worry about game time

Paddy and i just had a practise, finished in 1 and half hours, light lancers are crap but my light horse managed to ride straight upto heavy guns and capture them

so time shouldn't be to bad

To be fair we started at 12.30

had a 900 point practise for Godendag (padddy is playing with Simon) (I'm on my own at the moment)

and then an 800 point practise for next weekend and had finished both games by 5.00

what a good rule set

I suspect your date is wrong Alasdair? Dragoons can only be used after 1530 - but hopefully there's no other impact.

I got my list wrong too - correct date is 1518 - and it does make a difference.

Looking forward to it although I had hoped for a gentler 1st game as I will be very rusty.

Sorry Don! I was merely refering to the challenge of playing Paddy - I hadn't twigged that the draw was by date - d'oh!

Apologies my date is 1530, which wouldn't affect my draw, Petes would but we'll leave the draw as it is

By a strange quirk Paddy's army is also too early as the Austrians don't begin until 1520. Thus order is restored.

Are the times as we originally discussed? i.e.

Game 1: 9.00-11.40,
Game 2: 12.00-2.40,
Game 3: 3.00-5.40

Also are there any refreshments available (tea/coffee/biscuits etc) or should we all bring packed lunches and thermos (or tinnies!)?

I'll get there early to help you with the Set Up - what time will the hall be open?
