Well, it appears the venue will not be opening until friday 10 am ish. This was done to keep costs down
There are a number of contingency plans that we could put into place if people still want games.
Is anyone still interested in Thursday or Friday games? I can be around Thursday pm and I suppose some of those travelling from abroad will be as well. There is a local games venue with plenty of space but it is a few (maybe 6) miles away. Or we can just go to the pub and drink 1 or 2 beers.

What time Friday PM Phil? Are the Friday afternoon games still okay?
I'm still okay to come across Thursday night if someone wants a game at the club.

Does anyone know if the organising team might need a hand setting up the tables on Friday (or Thursday) ? I guess that might be useful....?

Thank you for stepping in with the offer, If visitors to Manchester still want to play, I'm still available for games on Thursday. The train you need is Manchester to Glossop, and you get off at Newton Station. The trains run twice per hour (15 minutes past and 48 minutes to the hour)

The plan is that I will be there from around 10:30 Thursday morning & Colin Betts just after lunchtime.
There will be a small cost of £3, but this will also include a brew...
The link that Hammy posted includes a Google map showing where we are, here's a sketchmap for those that don't like Google!
Hope to see you there; if anyone needs to contact me in advance, my mobile is 07887 562563, or see the link to the Calendar posted by Hammy for ColinB's details
Cheers

Colin,
Thanks. Not certain if any FOG R or FOG N players were coming up on the Thursday but it least they know where to get a friendly game.

Hmm... this concept of a "friendly game" is new to me, also... but perhaps it's a specific function of competitions
Anyway, I can't take much of the credit, it was Colin Betts who initially came up with the idea & as I'd already booked the day off, I just went with it... Colin B's hoping to join us around mid-day. He'll be coming from work, based at Piccadilly, so was considering being even kinder & offering lifts to anyone who is car-less for th eday, but that you need to take up with him, directly
Hope to see some of you around, either tomorrow or at the Bring & Buy which our club is running... I'll be the large, loud one telling everyone to stop looking & start buying!!
For those of you that do make it to our building, tomorrow, you'll be able to see what we did with our share of the proceeds of the B&B which have gone to replacing the ladies toilet with a disabled one & also the flooring in both toilets... so we want to do some work on the outside, now, so make sure that you've plenty of cash with you to spend at the B&B!!
Also, a gentle "plug" for those of you that are local... Mailed Fist meet at the building on 2nd & 4th Sunday & we run a mid week gaming session (currently once a month) - full details are on the
www.emhg.co.uk website on the calendar page
Cheers

If only I'd seen this yesterday - I wouldn't have minded having the first game with the army I'm using at Britcon before I get to Britcon.
