Well done guys
Seems like a good mix of scores as well
Once more I have had a look at results of mine recently. The majority are upto turn 10. Only 2 were up to turn 11
Based on the good mix of scores. I think I will keep it to 10 turns for the next round as well.
Maybe extending round 3 to 11 turns?

Iandavidsmith (14/32) Fedem (22/36)
IDS = 3 pts (1 + 2 for 50-75% casualities)
Fedem = 2 pt (1 + 1 for 26-50% casulties).
Hopefully i got that correct , great game.
Cheers
Ian

Some feedback from the gents who have played, please.
OK a few results did not manage an outright win. Is that down to terrain? Cautious play? Limited turns?
There was a winner in each game. That is a higher score BUT with extra turns could it have been won by the other player?
This comp is experimental so with feedback I could iron out the creases so to speak

Hi Eric, I think that with some armies (HYW Britain Late that im playing for example) were you depend on a high percentage of missile fire 10 turns could be too few to be able to do some damage. On my game with Ian I played 1/2 way of what I should have done normally to try to get more bp'S. As you can see it didn't worked

.
So for this kind of competition good Impact and melee armies suits better. Let's see in the next turns if the English can pull some rabbit from their hats
My humble two cents.
Cheers!

Hi Eric , the game between Fedem and myself began with some dancing around by the longbows,
with my swiss pike having the higher ground ,i am sure Fedem was hoping to shoot me to bits and wait
for an opening .At 10 turns it didn't happen ,my knights managed to pick off a few longbow which let to an opening
in his ranks, but the game was far from over at 10 turns, we have elected to continue playing as it is still anyones game.
Cheers
Ian

Mmmm.
Had looked at a few games I played recently (so I could remember them).
Games had finished by turn 10 for most. Two though stands out a little vs Hidde where I used Burg Ord. I think the game ended on turn14. My longbowmen had shot as much as they could before having to stand as they would be right at the rear base edge.
A game vs Triarius, ended on turn 12. I basically kicked myself at the beginning for not having a few more turns of shooting him, before charging in with the heavies. he had dispatched most of my better fighting troops and so my longbowman just ran and shot for a while.
I think it is all horses for courses. In that I am probably an aggressive player and so would only have 3 maybe 4 turns of shooting i most cases before I charged in a and or stood.
We shall see beut I know in the later stages players may well be even more cautious/cagey and so there may well not be an outright winner.
I know that games can be won before or on turn 10 it just depends on the player and the army

I am happy with 10 turns , its not as though its a secret , it just adds another flavor to the game that one needs to be openly looking for weaknesses of their opponent.
Something different

Exactly.
Ian when you come to think of it we have 26 turns a game. I suppose if you really wanted to you could quite easily play much longer. I have only evre had one 26 turn game which ended up as a draw. That is 1 in 500 or even 1000. Again I chose the 10 turns based on what I saw as an average length of time for a game to finish.
I thought of it in this way.
It is about 2.30pm. Let us say each turn is 30 mins (in actual time). Dusk sets in at 7.30pm. You have to beat your opponent in that time or he will get away.

Well, I didn't have time to give my men a pre-battle speech so they were a bit sluggish at first - and then we fell one BP short of outright victory so the chaps were a bit moody on the way home on the coach. They reckon 12 turns would be better!

Personally dont like 10. I think it does encourage players to "get on with it" but if you are flanking or trying to beak thru the middle it does detract when it just "ends" before any plans can come to fruition...
Maybe boost to at least 12?

So far then 2 votes for 12 turns, 1 vote for 10 turns, 19 abstaining. Umm what to do:)

Clearly the 19 who abstained mean they want 19 turns.

Dunno, maybe give 24h for votes, then just do the mean and get the nearest integer

that's what I'd do

I vote for 10 moves as most of my games are over in this time.
