It is the Eternal Empire list, TGM, not the mounted lot though. And it's a crucial match in the tournament so I don't want you playing with cranberry sauce all down your front!

So a very important win for the Skythians saves them from being NAFF army of the year. Just two candidates left now - the Bogus Numidians and the Papal States. If the Bogus Numidians win or draw their last match then the Papal States will "win" the tournament. If the Bogus Numidians lose then they will play off in a paired game with the Papal States to decide the outcome of the tournament.

Cheers Ferb good game. Good footwork at the end. I should have concentrated on your cav and stayed away from those archers. There was to many of them.

In a bruising fight, Picts kept pouring out of the woods and over the hills, eventually overwhelming the Khwarzamian defences.

Picts 40/58 vs Khwarzimians 37/31.

I guess that makes the Picts least NAFF

So well done to the Picts, they are the least NAFF army in this tournament. So just the one game left to decide the final positions, although there may have to be a paired game play-off.

with me as the popes Im out ,and bates as the popes is 2 away from being done, and Im about 12 away. BUT Ive seen comebacks before, so I dare not presume!

batesmotel(Bogus Numidian) 19/62 - raizer (Papal Condotta) 40/39

The Numidian impact foot (Legionaries and Spanish plus Elephants) did an excellent job of tearing into the Papl foot. Meanwhile the Numidian LH mostly kept the knights entertained with a few losses.

The second game is almost done and looks like it will either be a Numidian victory or a draw (Papal need to lose 2/42 to break, Numidians need to lose 6/72) at the end of my last turn.) The Papal troops managed to catch and pin a lot of the Numidians but not quite enough with the way the dice have gone. In this case the Numidians took no imitation legionaries, just Elephants and the Spanish and Numidian MF.

The Numidians are just about as bad a match for the Papal Condotta list as possible. It's like hunting flies with tanks since the Papal army doesn't get much in the way of decent inexpensive troops and knights, the only really good troops in the Condotta list are bassically over priced overkill against everything in the Numidian list except the elephants. So while it looks like the Papal Condotta will claim the Naffest of all prize, the final was sort of stacked against them.

The competition has now reached its conclusion and the Papal States army (aka "the Pope-a-Dopes") are NAFF army of the year for 2011. I would like to thank everybody who has contributed to this unusual and very exciting tournament - we actually started qualifying matches back in June! So all that remains to be done now is the closing ceremony where the three worst armies parade briefly on the "podium of shame" before they are taken round the back of the main grandstand and immolated in naptha by Feisal and his merry band of naffatun helpers.

Coming next year: "FAB 2012" (and you should be able to guess what that is going to be about!)
