Why not let the italians build up manpower and switch to buying Italian Leaders with Bonus's and Navy. The Brits are not moving in Africa so this could by you time that will help in the long run and leaders with Defensive and Attack bonus's will help defend Africa as well.

The truth of the matter is that I don't have enough boots on the ground in all theaters of operations. I'm using Italian infantry corps for second line defensive duties in France and Russia; which includes the all important partisan hunting role. Also in Russia I will use them along with the axis minors to mop up pockets of Russian units cut off and bypassed by the main axis force.
I chose to build a very offensive potent strike force in Russia composed of 6 tank and 7 mech corps but at a cost of not really having the number of infantry corps, leaders and fighters that I would normally have. I hope to beef up these forces during late 1941. It's critical that I have enough infantry in Russia when bad weather hits to absorb the Russia winter attacks. Also to that end, I need more leaders to boost effectiveness.

Looks like the Iraqi revolt works as intended. It's clear that it will only be a nuisance in this game, but if the Axis was fighting the Allies in Egypt, then maybe you could achieve sth with it.
Fortress Libya?

I'm puzzled by all that commitment of force to Libya. Wouldn't that be better deployed to help you in taking Moscow?

I like to defend North Africa with the goal of holding out until 1943 there. I don't like to give Libya up without a fight.

Very nice AAR, thanks for sharing!
I think the Russians are tempting you to go for Leningrad - if you don't focus on Moscow with all your strength, you might not capture it before winter. So you'll have to make a choice soon...

I only have 4 guarantee fair weather turns left. If Dan stands and defend I may not get Moscow this year. But if he stands and defend I think I can really destroy some quality Russian units and blunt his '41 winter offensive. And then be able to capture the city in '42.
I agree that Leningrad is secondary and as such I will try treat it so.

Manstein's survival will depend a lot on the order he attacks - if thats what he does.
