Thanks for your comments, the map is all based on the history. In the history of this war (Harbin), the Chinese side don't have any AA weapon, however, they still shoot down some planes by rifle... That is a unbalanced war.
Although I know many may not be - or at least may bend a bit more - I am all for making it as history is. I do not know much - if anything at all - about this part of history. But if it was like that - then I'm 100% for keeping the way it is.

do you think you might be able to post the following three files as attachments on this forum so I can use the Chinese flag you have made in my own mod (not much good at making graphics).
- Graphics/(may be another folder here)/flags.png

Sure, initiative should be crap, they should expect taking some losses approaching a firing enemy, but when they get there.. swords, katanas etc will easily outplay a plugged bayonet. You can swing the sword and dance with it, deflect attacks and strike back without mercy once you're in there, I can imagine experienced katana fighters dropping down on a trench would clean it out quickly with relative ease.
But perhaps their strength should be attack, and defense their weakness? I disagree on making them cheap, as what it would require in time to train these units in the art of swords would probably be quite substantial, knowing the strict ways the Japanese did this in line with their heritage. Not expensive either, but I don't think they should be considered dirt-cheap expendable cannon-fodder either.
