From what I can figure out using the rules they probably had a road down one edge, a river down the other and open spaces in the middle. Otherwise, yes, just what you said.

Big thanks to everyone involved - specially the 25mm guys, I had a great time with my first "big boys" outing.

Special mention to Bob Medcraft who, fielding Anglo-Irish, faced all 4 Roman armies in his games

I would like to second that a very big thanks to Paul Brandon for running the Challenge.
Also to Peter Dalby for his half paper unit on the Friday games only.

Great 2 days of gaming and my first 25mm outing - thanks to everyone involved in the organisation.

Thanks too to Mike, Nik, Bob, Nick & Richard for 5 very enjoyable games - all played in a terrific spirit.

I must confess to using 3 bits of paper to represent missing bases due to a small logistical failure on the first day but the supply chain was resolved for day 2. Thanks to Richard, Bob & Colin for helping me to field a complete army - I couldn't have done it without you.

The big toys were good fun. 650 points on a 6 x 4 table ensured you always got stuck in but with still plenty of manouevre and decisions to be made. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Thanks to Paul for orgaining the weekend and ensuring a quick turn round in the results.

I would like also to thank Richard, Richard, Pete, Colin and Nik for 5 great games even if 4 of them were against Romans were I was usually at least one POA down in every combat. Still other than against Pete the Later Anglo-Irish stood up well against the Romans (one massive loss, one winning draw (13-7), one dead heat and one losing draw (7-13)). If only I could have play another army in addition to Richard Angell's Early Successor (Seleucids).

I promised Richard Angell a copy of my Later Seleucids as I think this would have been a better list

As I mentioned to Richard after our game, I don't like having just one BG of MF in the army, go for 2 or none IMO, especially if when you have 1 it is just 6 bases.

As always a great time,just don't seem to be able to play well there
Anyway what did everyone think of the Friday/Sat format,personally I found having the two days a nice rest instead of going straight back to work

Thanks to all for 5 fun and taxing games. It was good to get the toys out and roll some dice.

Nice to see some of those lovely new 28mm plastics coming out in force. A fair crunch of iron in 25mm. I trust Pete cliamed the POA drop for pointy spears vs Paper.

Worked fine - only really possible on the Easter weekend of course, which makes it unsuitable for quite a few people for other reasons.

It meant I couldn't go, so I thought it was a bad thing.

Strange Ian they took point off me did'nt want me chasing you no doubt unless they have changed the score gave Rodger 12 points and me 1 point must have cut the points down to 13 per game.
