Woe! Cheers for the reply anyway. I just need to find something Panzer Generally that will work on an iPad really (I've got Unity of Command for the Mac but it's a lot more complex than my kids are ready for). The search continues!
Thanks again anyway

Hi. I just found this when trying to work out why I couldn't re-download PC from the Appstore. Any idea if it's coming back? I'd really like my kids to play it. I've been playing Pzr General et al since version 1 . . . so about 30 years, I reckon?
Cheers
MM
As far as we know you should be able to redownload it now, especially given that some people have said they can. Perhaps restart your iPad etc. Or it could be some kind of regional lag in the permissions percolating through.
Cheers

Congratulations to all tablet owners—justice has prevailed! I would also like to ask whether it is possible to install mods on the tablet version, or is it strictly a vanilla game !?

It seems that this is from the European area or somewhere else outside of America. I haven’t seen this.

I take it that something like parallels is out of the question for you? That’s how I’ve gotten both of the Panzer Corps on the Mac. Running windows 11 pro through the virtual machine on the Mac. It’s not free. Paid $60 for one year on sale. Next year is $127 they say.
Also parallels says that you neee Windows 11 Pro, not the Home version, for it to work. Good luck to you.

The ipad does not allow user installed mods.
The mac version, which was ported from the ipad not windows, does not allow mods either.

The big question is, can I re install Panzer Corps again on my 13” M4 iPad Pro? I deleted it before and now theirs a lot of talk about it being available again. It’s just that it’s not in my app library anymore. How do I get it?
Also, if you want to run Panzer Corps on the Mac you have to run in through a virtual machine with Windows 11 to get it. All Slithering has right now is the Gold version. That’ll get you the game and all the DLCs. That’s what bought last month for about $7.50. I’m running that and Panzer Corps 2.

It should still be in your app library, now that we have turned things back on (we hope!), and available for download. If not then you might need to reach out to Apple and ask them what is going on.

I reached out the Apple through the chat area. It seems I’m out of luck with this app. It’s in my purchase history but it doesn’t show up in my library anywhere.

The portingkit[.com] allows one to play PzC1 on your Mac. And it is free.
Uses Wine, and works for Apple Silicon Macs.

I already paid the $60 sale price for parallels. It’s gonna cost me $127 next November 2026 if I keep it. I paid only $7.50 for the whole Anzer Corps Gold.
Since I for some reason can’t get my Panzer Corps 1 back on the iPad Pro, than I’ve got no choice but to run it on the Mac.

I’ve asked about Panzer Corps 2 before and Slitherine said it’s too much to put on the iPad. I think it’s because of the 3D engine. I think that’s what they said.
That's correct. PzC2 is built using a highly inefficient 3rd party engine (Epic's unreal engine). It essentially means that playing a board game consumes as much CPU and GPU time as playing a first person shooter. It uses so much memory they had to make the maps much smaller in PzC2 than the original. That in turn means that many people can't play it due to the system requirements, which has limited the appeal of the game. It's just not a big enough hit to be worth porting to other platforms.

PzC2 has sold easily as much as the original game. Unreal may be many things (and might well be overkill for PzC) but it's a top-tier game engine, and it runs just fine on iOS (see: Fortnite). We haven't done a iOS version for all the reasons we've discussed here: lack of internal dev bandwidth, the lessons of needing constant updates that make using external resources much less of an option, our awful experiences with Apple as partners, and the relatively low sales for non-free-to-play games on iOS.
Please stop posting your opinions as fact.

Sorry if I’ve done that. I don’t think I have but sorry anyway.
Yesterday was the last day I could return my 16” M4 MacBook Pro. I bought mostly to learn to code but especially to install Windows 11 and play games especially Panzer Corps 1 & 2. Guess what happened yesterday; I got the original Panzer Corps back on my 13” M4 iPad Pro. Hope it works.
Now I can leave my MacBook at home when I drive the delivery truck. It’s getting way too cold to leave the MacBook in the truck. Thanks for finally getting this resolved Slitherine. It didn’t seem, to me anyways, that Apple was any help. Just MY opinion.

Hello Pip, @pipfromslitherine
Just wanted to post and let you know that as of 3/11/26, I was setting up my (new) iPad for a trip. Went to check some apps, ran across Panzer Corps Lite in the "not installed" section, and for giggles I tried to download it.
Shockingly, it installed without issue, ran fine, and I was able to see that all my paid for DLC was included. Loaded a scenario, and it looks like it works fine. I don't know what you or Slitherine did, but to me it looks restored perfectly and playable. If I run into any issues, I will let you know, but as of now all is well.
Please take the time to thank whomever was responsible for this from me. This is exactly the type of behavior I expect from a reputable company. I have been a customer of several games over the years, and I will keep doing so because of this. Thanks again.

I feel the same way about Slitherine. I just wish there was more games like Panzer Corps. I’ve read what Slitherine said about putting PC2 on the iPad Pro. Just thought with 16gb Ram it would be possible. But they said no so that’s it. I’ve got PC1 and all the DLCs on the iPad, and both the PC1 & 2 on the Mac. I’m all set.
Thanks again Slitherine for the help and patience with us.

I'm not sure what specifically you are objecting to, so I'll respond as well as I can. Is it my claim that Unreal is far more resource intensive than PzC? An iPad can run PzC for 6 hours on battery. If you install PzC2 on an Intel MBP Pro running Windows, the fan runs the whole time and the (much bigger) battery is dead in 2 hours. Is it not a fact that PzC2 maps are smaller because of the massive memory needed? I have never claimed that Unreal isn't "fine" on iOS. But Apple customers are a discerning bunch and "fine" isn't what we are looking for. PzC runs
well.
I'm pleased to hear PzC2 sold "easily as much" as PzC, but considering the presumably higher development costs is that really a win? Wasn't the story we were told that 3D was the greatest thing ever and would bring in a new generation of gamers? Instead it sounds, from what you are saying, like you mostly got another pay day from your existing older fan base. I've certainly never heard of anyone under 40 playing these games. But your existing older fans would have gladly paid for some mods and updates to PzC which would have cost a fraction of the amount to produce compared to making PzC2. And a PzC focused strategy would have kept the game compatible with macOS and iOS as a bonus.

I’m 65 and I love both of them. I’ve been playing PC2 on a 16” M4 Mac with Windows 11 Pro running through parallels. I’ve got to admit that with PC2 the battery life isn’t that great as PC1. But, what do you expect? As long as it works it’s fine. If I’m in the truck then I bring along a portable charger to get more battery life.
Sorry to see both PC1 & 2 ending there stories. Good job Slitherine. Hope there’s more games out there like this. Don’t really care about the games with the icons. Not knocking Hex of Steel on the iPad. I’ve just never got into those games.
