DIVM attacks kronenblatt using army of Phrygia in Kappadokia:
Winner DIVM (Phyrgia) vs kronenblatt (Kappadokia): 55-30
Phyrgia's phalanxes came back, taking with them the fury of vengeance to recover their land. While their phalanxes and hoplites did a fine job in the left flank, and barely held in the right flank, Kappadokia's center was ruthless and not only held their ground, but broke through. Similar to their cavalry at their right flank, that was getting the upper hand over the Phrygian army, but not fast enough to stop the enraged and elite Phyrgian flank to turn towards the center and finish the battle for everyone.
Thanks to my opponent kronenblatt for another fun battle. The score doesn't really reflect how close was the battle a couple of turns earlier, when Fortune smiled Phyrgia and was able to break through faster.
Cheers.

2. Aetius39 (2000 FP) attacks RicoFGM (2000 FP), using the army of Media in Hyrkania.
Aetius defeats RicoFGM 47-8
There was a long staredown for some time, with just lights battling, but once lines hit there were a lot of breaks quick, and the Hyrkanians routed. GG!

5. RicoFGM attacks carpenkm, using the army of Areia. Attacker satrapy Areia (18), defender satrapy Drangiane (19).
The Drangians repulsed the treacherous Areians 47 - 19 bringing peace and harmony to the regions. Cavalry battles on the two flanks nearly went on long enough for the Areinian Pike to do some heavy damage in the centre. Archers in some rough terrain were soon in trouble and it looked like the Centre left would collapse until they were reinforced by some medium foot which did just enough to let the victorious left flank cav close in for some flank and rear attacks. Well played - tough battle.

6. dragmio (2000 FP) attacks Aetius39 (2000 FP), using the army of Babylonia in Mesopotamia.
Aetius defeats dragmio 53-8
Tough for the Mesopotamians as they got on a narrow ledge, some quick drops that led to an overall rout, and reclamation of Mesopotamia for Magna Aetiea....uh...I mean...Magna Grecia. Yes...Magna Grecia...

Peaceful Diadochi?!? A contradiction in terms.

Once all battles have been concluded, each of you will lose your satrapy-at-stake to a player of your own choice (however, never to each other). But that's for later.

Yeah, that battle was a bit of a damp squib ... both sides had good defensive positions, although my opponent was the actual "attacker". After 12 turns of maneuvering and skirmishing he indicated he basically wasn't going to attack -- with only 12 turns left, didn't really leave me enough turns left to counter-attack properly and I probably would've been crushed if I had launched a hasty attack (wasn't deployed for that anyway).
So that result is the final deathblow to my little faction -- as I exit, I'll pass on my last satrapy to dragmio.
Thanks for the games.

Yes, since outcomes from battle results are symmetric for attacker and defender, there is no in-battle “actual attacker”: if you as “actual defender” win the battle, you also win the attacker’s satrapy. So no need or idea to wait out the actual attacker for him to actually attack. On the contrary in fact in this specific situation, because with both of you losing satrapy if a draw, you had more to lose in a draw since your last satrapy.
This symmetric outcome is all intentional in order to avoid the natural tendency for a defender to camp and wait out the attacker, making for more balanced FoG games.

Gotcha -- noted for next time I play in one of these.

So with RicoFGM already having given his satrapy to dragmio and thereafter is out of satrapies and thus eliminated from the campaign (many thanks, RicoFGM: hope you enjoyed it!), carpenkm will need to communicate to whom (except to his opponent RicoFGM) he is to allocate his satrapy of Drangiane, due to their draw in Battle #5.

And from which satrapy of yours do you attack? i.e., the "
attacker satrapy"?
