Round 2: Movement instructions

by kronenblatt
Time has now come for round 2's movement instructions. Still summer season.
- All armies get 15 MP each.
- Armies that begin the round commanded by a general will get an additional +3 MP, i.e., 18 MP.
- Movement instructions are expressed as a sequence of individual moves, with no other symbols in between, only blanks (for easy copy-pasting by me).
- This would include information about which player is controlling the army (in case if differs from the name below).
- For example, Roman army I (Nathangun): 2 4 2 6 0 6
- Please send the movement instructions of your faction's armies by way of PM to me on March 5 (9 PM, Stockholm time) at the latest.
- Your faction is free to decide whether a one player submits for all armies, each player for his own army or armies, or whatever what works for you.
- However, if I receive any conflicting instructions, I'll use the ones received last (as long as not after the deadline).
- I'll not open any of the other factions' PMs until I've published the movement instructions of my own faction.
- Should I by accident happen to open any PM anyway, I can assure you that it's just a clicking error since I receive so many PMs and I'll immediately close that PM without reading it. Hope you feel comfortable with that?
- If you have any questions, please always ask them in the campaign thread and not in PM, since I will not be able read or answer of those questions until maybe too late. Plus your questions may be relevant to other people as well.
... As always...
- ... don't worry: we'll all hold each other's hands to get to know and understand the rules, etc., together. This is for fun, after all!

Round 2: Battles

by kronenblatt
Roman faction: if you want to, you can assign one of the battles (1.1 and 1.2) to be played by another player than
carpenkm, by one of you who don't already going to play any battles (i.e.,
not Aetius39, due to 2.1). Who would then that be, and in which of the battles 1.1 and 1.2?
Battle 1
- 1.1 Roman army V (carpenkm, 1600 FP) versus Sassanid army I (kronenblatt, 1600 FP). Middle Eastern Agricultural. Roman player sets up.
( 5 - 2 + 1 ) - ( 4 - 1 + 1 ) = 0. Random value = 8.
- 1.2 Roman army V (carpenkm, 1600 FP) versus Sassanid army II (markleslie, 1600 FP). Middle Eastern Agricultural. Roman player sets up.
( 5 - 2 + 1 ) - ( 4 - 1 + 1 ) = 0. Random value = 1 (around Sassanid army II, being the smallest.
Battle 2
- 2.1 Roman army VI (Aetius39, 1570 FP) versus Sassanid army III (Karvon, 1630 FP). Middle Eastern Agricultural. Roman player sets up.
( 4 - 1 ) - ( 4 - 1 +1 ) = -1. Random value = 10.
Please note
- Map size: Wide (40 x 32).
- Armies and allies: The two armies use their respective specifications of army lists (and allies, if any).
- The winner, or the player having incurred the fewest casualties, reports the results in this thread.
- Battles to be concluded and reported within four weeks, i.e., no later than April 3.

markleslie defeats
edb1815 44-9.
Given the situation, the fate of Edessa hanging in the balance, my opponent demonstrated an admirable degree of sportsmanship much unlike a Roman and strayed beyond the walls of his mountain fastness.
Unfortunately, in this case, sportsmanship is ill advised and the old Roman way of dig in and wait them out the better, if less glamorous, approach.
Salute!

2.1 Roman army VI (Aetius39, 1570 FP) versus Sassanid army III (Karvon, 1630 FP). Middle Eastern Agricultural. Roman player sets up.
Aetius (Romans) draws with Karvon (Persians) 43-27
Even though the Romans got as much cavalry as they could, there was much more mobility on the Persian side. A lot of maneuvering, a lot of arrow shooting and chasing away, and some cornering random units. In the end the Romans held the field, but couldn't rout the enemy. If they had a few more turns...^^ GG!
