The battle was decided on one flank that was separated from the main front by rough ground. As the Macedonians brought 10 pike blocks, elephants and lancers there weren't many medium or light troops. See this, the Antigonids pushed hard through and around the rough to route the elephants and lancers before turning to attack the pikes. The phalanx line and cavalry on the opposite flank were mostly untouched.
