Pod C - West
Blagrot -Pyrrhic (50%) beat klayeckles Carthage (63%)
A brutal fight, badly outnumbered in skirmishers I bulled forward losing most units not carrying pikes, my right was technically wiped out twice in scraps around some forest but ultimately there was nothing that could stop the pikes on the open ground.
Thanks for the fight and appropriately a true pyrrhic victory!

Can't see that it has been recorded, at least not in the Performance Tables or in the new pods for Round 2's challenges.

Pod A
Morat (Spartan) 37 losses beat edb1815 (Roman) 62 losses. Points Morat 85, edb1815 37.
Bitter tussle over a low hill in the centre saw the Spartan right disperse their opponents before the Romans could do the same on the left. Hard fought throughout. The Spartans had a series of fragmented units at the end that just hung on.
Thanks to edb1815 for a great battle.

ericdoman1: Carthaginian 235-146 BC w/Spanish (Iberian) Allies
11% (92) defeated Holien: Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC w/Numidian or Moorish Allies 50% (18)
Seemed to miss a bit of text here...
The Carthage on Carthage action saw the Iberian backed force with more Cavalry and slightly more foot skirmishers vs Hannibal who had gone slightly more Vet African Spearmen and foot units. Ultimately Hannibal made the gravest of mistakes by splitting his force in an attempt to keep his Heavy Artillery in action and protect it from the numerous enemy cavalry. The rest of his force rushed to some unguarded hills on the right flank but this was a fool’s errand as the opposing Carthage just pulled back and after winning the skirmish fight forced Hannibal into an uneven fight. The force guarding the Artillery was skilfully dismantled and the Iberian backed force left as victor.
BTW Hannibal scored 18% against his opponent not that it will make any difference to the final standings...

Early Classical Antiquity – Division A
East Conference Pod A Round 2
harveylh (East) Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC (50%) 75 pts defeats Holien (East) Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC w/Numidian or Moorish 341-56 BC allies (65%) 50 pts
A close tough game as both sides tried to use the terrain against their opponent. Surprisingly the Carthaginians with Numidian allies deployed no cavalry just numerous light horse. The other Carthaginians’ cavalry did significant damage and that was the difference.Good game.

East - Round 2
ericdoman1: Carthaginian 235-146 BC w/Spanish (Iberian) Allies 20% (85) defeated Harvey: Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC 45% (20)
My larger force on my right had started fighting Harvey's left, a few turns before his right could attack my left. I had gradually built up a good lead and a victory was certain however Harvey lost 2 generals in one turn and so this enabled me to win by a decent margin. If they had not died, I think the margin would have been smaller and Harvey would have scored more points. Cheers Harvey.

I can only say that if you are going to rally all your routing units you should do it in the last turn

East Conference Pod A Round 2
harveylh (East) Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC (55%) 70 pts defeats pantherboy (East) Achaemenid Persian 480-461 BC (65%) 55 pts
A large water feature constrained the battlefield. Both armies advanced and the Persians took advantage of a gentle hill on their left flank anchored by the water feature. A cavalry battle occurred on the opposite flank which was largely a draw. The Persians' missile fire combined with being uphill destroyed the Carthaginian right flank. However, the Carthaginians returned the favor by crushing the Persian center and eked out a close win. Good game.
